NOTE: The diagram above shows the U224-1R4-R. The U224-4R4-R will
have all 4 USB ports on the Remote Unit.
1.Connect the Local Unit of your Cat5 Extender/Hub to a USB port on your
computer (The red Power LED on the U224-1R4-R local unit will light up to
indicate the unit is connected to a powered-on computer. The U224-4R4-R
does not have a Power LED.)
2.Using Cat5e/6 cable (up to 150 ft. or 45m), connect the Local Unit and the
Remote Unit via the RJ45 ports. (The red Link LED will light up on the
Remote Unit to indicate it is connected to the Local Unit)
3.Connect the included AC Adapter to the Power Jack located on the U224-
1R4-R Local Unit or the U224-4R4-R Remote Unit. Plug into an available
power source.
4.Connect a USB device to any available Local USB port and/or connect a
USB device to any available Remote USB port. (The green USB LED will
light up to indicate a device is plugged into the corresponding port. The USB
LED for the U224-1R4-R Remote USB Port is located between the RJ45
Port and the Power Jack on the Local Unit)

8. Troubleshooting
If your USB Cat5 Extender/Hub is not working properly, try the following:
•

Make sure that the unit is connected to the included AC Adapter and plugged into a work-
ing power source
Ensure that the Cat5e/6 cable connecting the Local and Remote Units does not exceed
150 ft. (45m)
Ensure that none of the USB cables being used to connect a device to the USB Cat5
Extender/Hub are longer than 16 ft. (5m)
Ensure that the Cat5e/6 cable is working properly by connecting it between two devices
you know work properly (e.g. connect a working computer to a live network and try
accessing the internet). If the Cat5e/6 cable does not work in this environment, try using
another Cat5e/6 cable.

Ensure that the USB cable functions properly by connecting to a device that you know
works properly (e.g. plug a USB printer directly into a computer). If this does not work,
try using another USB cable.
Ensure that the USB device you are plugging in works properly by connecting it to a
working device using a USB cable that you know works (e.g. connect a USB printer to
a working computer using a cable you know works). If this does not work, your USB
device may not be working properly.

If none of these solutions resolves your issue, contact
Tripp Lite Technical Support at (773) 869-1234.
9. Warranty
The equipment it manufactures to be free from defects in material and workmanship for the
following limited warranty period:
1 year for parts and labor.
At its option, repair or replace the equipment, provided that the equipment has not been
subjected to mechanical, electrical, or other abuse or modification, if equipment fails and
company being notified within 1 year of the first purchase.
This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied, including without limi-
tation, any implied warranty or merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose, all of
which are expressly disclaimed. The information in this manual has been carefully checked

NOTA: El diagrama de arriba muestra la unidad U224-1R4-R. La unidad
U224-4R4-R tendrá todos los puertos USB en la unidad remota.
1.Conecte la unidad local de su Extensor/Hub Cat5 a un puerto USB en su
computadora. (El LED de energía rojo de la unidad local U224-1R4-R se
encenderá hasta indicar que la unidad está conectada a una computadora
encendida. La U224-4R4-R no tiene LED de energía.)
2.Usando el cable Cat5e/6 (hasta 150 pies o 45m), conecte la unidad local y la
unidad remota a través de los puertos RJ45. (El LED de acoplamiento rojo

8. Solución de Problemas
Si su Extensor/HUB USB Cat5 no está funcionando adecuadamente, intente lo siguiente:

Asegúrese de que la unidad está conectada al adaptador CA incluido y que está enchufado en
una fuente de energía que funcione
Cerciórese de que el cable Cat5e/6 que conecta las unidades local y remota no supere los 150
pies (45m)
Asegúrese de que ninguno de los cables USB que se vayan a usar para conectar un dispositivo
al Extensor/Hub USB Cat5 tengan una longitud mayor a 16 pies (5m)
Cerciórese de que el cable Cat5e/6 esté funcionando adecuadamente conectándolo entre dos
dispositivos que usted sepa que funcionan bien (por ejemplo, conecte una computadora que
funcione a una red activa y trate de ingresar a Internet). Si el cable Cat5e/6 no funciona en este
entorno, trate de emplear otro cable Cat5e/6.

Si esto no da resultado, puede que su dispositivo USB no esté funcionando adecuadamente.Si

9. Garantía
El equipo se fabrica para que no presente fallas de materiales ni de fabricación durante el siguien-

REMARQUE : Le diagramme ci-dessus montre le U224-1R4-R. Le U224-
4R4-R aura tous les 4 ports USB sur le module distant.
1.Connectez le module local de votre Extendeur/Concentrateur Cat5 à un port
USB sur votre ordinateur (le voyant LED rouge sur le module local U224-
1R4-R s’illuminera pour indiquer que le module est connecté à un ordinateur
allumé. Le U224-4R4-R n’est pas muni d’un DEL d’alimentation.)
2.A l’aide d’un câble Cat5e/6 (jusqu’à 45 cm ou 150 pi.), connectez le module
local et le module distant par le biais des ports RJ45. (Le voyant LED rouge
sur le module distant s’illuminera pour indiquer qu’il est connecté au module
local)
3.Branchez l’adaptateur CA inclus à la prise d’alimentation située sur le
module local U224-1R4-R ou le module distant U224-4R4-R. Branchez à
une source d’alimentation disponible.
4.Connectez un périphérique USB à n’importe quel port USB local disponible
et/ou connectez un périphérique USB à n’importe quel port USB distant
disponible. (Le voyant DEL USB s’illuminera pour indiquer qu’un
périphérique est branché au port correspondant. (Le DEL USB pour le port
USB distant U224-1R4-R est situé entre le port RJ45 et la prise d’alimentation

8. Dépannage
Si votre Extendeur/Concentrateur USB Cat5 ne fonctionne pas proprement, essayez les solutions
suivantes :

Assurez-vous que le module est connecté à l’adaptateur CA inclus et branché à une source
d’alimentation en marche
Assurez-vous que le câble Cat5e/6 qui connecte les modules local et distant n’est plus long
que 45 m (150 pi)
Assurez-vous qu’aucun des câbles USB utilisés pour connecter le périphérique à l’Extendeur/
Concentrateur USB Cat5 n’est plus long que 5 m (16 pi)
Assurez-vous que le câble Cat5e/6 fonctionne proprement en le connectant entre deux
périphériques dont vous êtes sûr qu’ils sont en bonne marche (ex. connectez un ordinateur
en bonne marche à un réseau actif et essayez d’accéder à l’Internet). Si le câble Cat5e/6 ne
fonctionne pas dans cet environnment, essayez d’utiliser un autre câble Cat5e/6.
•

Assurez-vous que le câble USB fonctionne proprement en le connectant à un périphérique
dont vous êtes sûr qu’il est en bonne marche (ex. branchez une imprimante USB directement à
un ordinateur). Si ceci ne marche pas, essayez d’utiliser un autre câble USB.
Assurez-vous que le périphérique USB que vous connectez fonctionne proprement en le
connectant à un périphérique actif à l’aide d’un câble USB dont vous êtes sûr qu’il est en
bonne marche (ex. connectez une imprimante USB à un ordinateur à l’aide d’un câble dont
vous êtes sûr qu’il est en bonne marche). Si ceci ne marche, votre périphérique USB pourrait
ne pas être en bonne marche.
•
Si aucune de ces solutions ne résout le problème, contactez le service d’assistance technique
de Tripp Lite au (773) 869-1234.
9. Garantie
Les appareils qu’il fabrique seront libres de défauts de matériel et de main d’œuvre pendant
la période de garantie limitée suivante :
1 an pour le matériel et la main d’oeuvre.
A son option, répare ou remplace l’équipment, à condition que l’équipement n’ait pas été
soumis à des abus ou modifications d’ordre mécanique, électrique, ou tout autre abus ou
modification, en cas de défaillance de l’équipement et dans le cas où la société a été notifiée
dans un délai de 1 an après l’achat initial.
