Présentation
1.2 - PRÉSENTATION
Séparateur optique à prismes à grande ouverture (f/1.4)
Le séparateur est équipé de :
• 1 roue porte-filtres de densité à quatre positions.
• 1 roue porte-filtres d'effet à quatre positions.

grande amplitude ("SOFT CONTOUR").
l’image. Plusieurs loi de GAMMA sont proposées: Factory, Custom, BBC, CCIR. A

1.2 - PRESENTATION
Wide aperture prism type optical separator (f/1.4)
The separator is fitted with:
•
A 4-position density filter wheel.
• A 4-position effect filter wheel.
• 1 quartz filter, suppressing colorimetric errors due to reflected polarised light.
• 1 anti-aliasing optical filter.
• 1 infrared filter.
High performance video processing chain
Gain in steps of - 3 dB to + 21 dB.
Digital video processing over 12 bits consists mainly:
• Automatic Black Shading Correction.
• White Shading Correction.
• Automatic pixel correction:
Pixel correction is intended to reduce non-uniformity between pixels. This device
corrects the pixels which may have become defective with time.
• Automatic flare compensation.
• Contour correction:
This correction includes a correction of “aperture” centred on 6-7 MHz intended to
compensate for the loss in modulation depth up to 6 MHz, and a “physiological”
correction centred on 3-4 MHz intended to provide image relief. This correction is
generated by the three R,G,B channels.

Noise suppression on the horizontal and vertical contour signals is gain controlled. The
final contour correction level is reduced in the dark areas of the image to decrease noise
visibility. The system features a high amplitude detail compressor (“SOFT CONTOUR”).
• “DIAG CONTOUR” function which, by decreasing the amplitude of frequencies close
to the subcarrier, reduces the “CROSS COLOR” phenomena.
• “SKIN DETAIL” function which is used to reduce the detail level on any skin detail
chosen either manually or automatically by the operator.
• “DFZ” function. This is used to reduce or increase the detail level according to the zoom
position.
• “MASKING” correction enabling very accurate colorimetry and colour identity
adjustment for all cameras. Three matrix values may be stored enabling colorimetric
blending of the TTV1707 with other cameras while retaining the reference EBU matrix
values.
• “GAMMA” correction providing a very good rendering of lowly illuminated areas of
the image. Several gamma laws are proposed: Factory, Custom, BBC, CCIR. From a
given law, it is possible to modify the gamma corrections of the three primaries R, G
and B individually.
• “BLACK STRETCH” by modifying the gamma correction response, black stretch is
used to increase or decrease the black gain without affecting the remainder of the image.
• Automatic or manual white knee with colour restoration. This device is used to obtain
maximum exploitation of the complete contrast range restored by the sensors and 12-bit
analog-to-digital conversion.
• “ABL” function used to increase the contrast of some images (e.g.: in fog).
Triaxial link between the camera head and the Channel Control Unit.
This link carries the following signals: The 270 Mbit digital video, 2 return videos (one
optional), 1 intercom link, 1 “ambient mic” sound, the camera time base generator control
signal, the remote control forward and return signals and power to supply the camera.

Operator’s control panel
2.8 - OPERATOR’S CONTROL PANEL
«PREVIEW» function
Preselection of equipment from a panel is used to switch the video to the Technical Control
room (Monitors, Profiled oscilloscope, vectorscope, etc.).
Preselection is made by pressing the preselection switch or pressing on the palm of the
panel monocontrol: this closes a loop between pins 6 and 7 of the «PREVIEW/AUX»
connector of the panel.
Lighting of the «PREVIEW» light of this panel is controlled by an external preselector.
Depending on the type of lighting control (voltage or loop); the wiring of the connector
connected to the «PREVIEW/AUX» receptacle of the panel will be different.
Refer to the OCP40 / OCP42 manual .
Impedance matching
The panel must be terminated with 150 Ohms (LOOP/150 Ohm selector switch on
bottom of the panel set to the 150 Ohm position).
Panel power supply
The panel must be supplied directly via the CCU OCP cable by connecting pin 5 of the
«REMOTE» connector connector of the Channel Control Unit to pin 5 of the panel CCU
receptacle. The ON AIR 1 and ON AIR 2 controls sent to the panel and camera are
superimposed on the panel supply voltage. Don't used the XLR4 OCP receptacle.
The maximum length of cable connecting the panel with the Channel Control Unit is
50 metres with a screened 5 pairs cable. This maximum length is 100 metres if the 5
wire (used for the OCP supply) is quadrupled. Refer to the schematic cable.
The chassis ground of the panel must be connected to the chassis ground of the instal-
lation.
The connection is normally provided by a screened 5 pairs cable, part number:
• BC041.001 - length 2 metre, or
• BC041.015 - length 15 metres, or
• BC041.050 - length 50 metres, or
