14. To avoid fire or shock hazard, plug the unit directly into a 120 V AC electrical outlet.  
15. To disconnect heater, turn controls to OFF, then remove plug from outlet. Pull firmly on the plug, DO NOT unplug by  
pulling on the cord.  
16. Always unplug the unit before moving or cleaning, or whenever the heater is not in use.  
17. Use only for intended household use as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer  
may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by unauthorized

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS  
Place the heater on a firm, level surface and plug into a grounded 120V 60Hz power outlet.  
Only operate the heater when it is in the upright position.  
1. To operate as a HEATER: Press the ON/OFF button on the control panel.  
2. Once the heater is on, press the MODE button to choose the desired heat setting. The icon  
on the display showing three wavy vertical lines is HIGH (1500 Watts), the icon showing  
two wavy vertical lines is LOW (750 Watts), and the E icon is for ECO mode. In ECO  
mode, the heater will heat to the set thermostat temperature, and then decrease the power  
usage by 1/3 to save energy while still maintaining the set room temperature.  
3. Press the & buttons to change the desired thermostat setting. The thermostat can be  
set from 59°F to 80°F. The heater will cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature in  
the room. Set the heater to 80°F for continuous heat (unless the room temp. is above 80°F).  
4. Press the SWING button to enable the oscillation mode. The heater will rotate left to right  
to disperse heat throughout the room.  
5. To operate the HUMIDIFIER: First, attach the humidifier spout to the hole on the top of  
the unit. Next, Remove the water container from the back of the unit (when the unit is off)  
and add water. Place the container back in the unit. Press the HUMID button to start/stop  
the humidifier. You can use this function while the unit is in heater mode, or when heater  
mode is off. NOTE: The ON/OFF button is for heater mode only.  
6. Press the TIMER button to enact the Auto-off timer. This will automatically turn the unit off  
when the alloted time has passed. Each press of the TIMER button will add 1 hour to the  
SAFETY FEATURES  
Polarized Plug  
Warning: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the  
risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the  
plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified  
electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.  
DO NOT DEFEAT THE SAFETY PURPOSE OF THE POLARIZED PLUG.  
Tip-Over Safety Switch  
This heater equipped with tip-over safety switch located underneath the base of the heater  
(SEE ILLUSTRATION ON PAGE 4). This switch must be pressed inward for the heater to  
function properly. Some soft surfaces such as carpet may not be able to fully press in this  
switch. For some soft surfaces, a hard flat object will need to be placed underneath the heater  
for it to function properly.  
PLEASE DO NOT TAPE OR GLUE THIS SWITCH.

MAINTENANCE  
WARNING: ALWAYS UNPLUG THE CORD BEFORE MOVING OR SERVICING.  
CLEANING: IMPORTANT! DO NOT IMMERSE HEATER IN WATER! Clean the heater grills using the  
vacuum brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner. This will remove lint and dirt from the inside of the heater.  
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TAKE HEATER APART. Clean the body of heater with a soft cloth.  
CAUTION: Do not use gasoline, benzine, thinner, harsh cleaners, etc. as they will damage the heater.  
NEVER USE ALCOHOL OR SOLVENTS.  
SAFETY FEATURES  
1. A thermal overload protector is built in to prevent overheating.  
2. When an overheat temperature is reached, the heater will be automatically shut off. It can only resume  
operation when the user resets the unit. (See RESET INSTRUCTION below)  
RESET INSTRUCTION  
Unplug the heater and wait 10 minutes for the unit to cool down.  
After the 10 minutes, plug the unit in again and operate normally.  
STORAGE  
If the heater will not be used for a long period of time, store it in a cool, dry location when not in use. To  
prevent dust and dirt build-up, use the original packaging to repack the unit.  
TROUBLESHOOTING  
If your heater shuts off unexpectedly or fails to operate, one of the above-mentioned safety features may have  
activated to prevent overheating.  
1. Be sure the power cord is plugged into a working electrical outlet.  
2. Make sure the tip-over safety switch is engaged (pressed in). Make sure the heater is on a flat level surface.  
3. There is no heat. Make sure thermostat temperature is set above the current room temperature. The heater  
will not turn on of the thermostat on the display is set below the current room temperature.  
4. If the Humidifier is not working, make sure the water container is full and properly placed inside  
the unit.  
5. Water may build up on the top of the unit when in Humidifier mode. This is completely normal. This water  
will not harm the heater or the electronics. To clean the water off, place the heater and humidifier in the  
OFF position and wipe down with a paper towel or rag.

WARRANTY  
One Year Limited Warranty  
Soleus International Inc. warrants the accompanying Soleus Air HC4-15-20 Ceramic Tower Heater to be free of  
defects in material and workmanship for the applications specified in its operation instruction for a period of ONE (1)  
year from the date of original retail purchase in the United States.  
If the unit exhibits a defect in normal use, Soleus International Inc. will, at its option, either repair or replace it, free of  
charge within a reasonable time after the unit is returned during the warranty period.  
As a condition to any warranty service obligation, the consumer must present this Warranty Certificate along with a  
copy of the original purchase invoice.  
THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:  
Damage, accidental or otherwise, to the unit while in the possession of a consumer not caused by a defect in  
material or workmanship.  
Damage caused by consumer misuse, tampering, or failure to follow the care and special handling provisions  
in the instructions. This includes dents, accidental or otherwise, to the base and head of the unit.  
Damage to the finish of the case, or other appearance parts caused by wear.  
Damage caused by repairs or alterations of the unit by anyone other than those authorized by Soleus  
International Inc.  
Freight and Insurance cost for the warranty service.  
ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANT ABILITY ARE LIMITED TO  
ONE-YEAR DURATION OF THIS EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTY. SOLEUS INTERNATIONAL INC.  
DISCLAIMS ANY LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES AND IN NO EVENT  
SHALL SOLEUS INTERNATIONAL INC’S LIABILITY EXCEED THE RETAIL VALUE OF THE UNIT FOR  
BREACH OF ANY WRITTEN OR IMPLIED WARRANTY WITH RESPECT TO THIS UNIT.  
This warranty covers only new products purchased from our authorized dealers or retailers. It does not cover used, sal-  
vaged, or refurbished products.  
As some states do not allow the limitation or exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, or do not allow  
limitation on implied warranties, the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you  
specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
