and before servicing.

This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit,
and has a grounding attachment plug that looks like
the plug illustrated at right. Make sure
that the appliance is connected to an
outlet having the same configuration
as the plug. No adaptor should be used
with this appliance.

Before turning on the vacuum:

paths, the hose, or the accessories become
blocked, turn the vacuum cleaner off. Remove
all obstructions before you turn on the

click of a switch.

Press the On/Off switch to the“I"
position to vacuum bare floors or
cleaning with the hose (straight
suction only) or to the "II"
position to engage the motorized
floor brush (for vacuuming carpets
and rugs).
IMPORTANT:
Your Brushroll Indicator Light
will illuminate solid green when
the brushroll is on, or solid red if
there is a blockage. This feature is
designed to protect your Lifetime
Belt that powers your brushroll.

the suction release on the
hose. If the vacuum is difficult
to push or pull or if it is

floors or when using the pet
hair power brush.

Emptying the Dust Cup Assembly
CAUTION:
For best results empty the Dust Cup
Assembly after each use, as needed
during prolonged usage or when it
reaches the MAX fill line.
Unplug the vacuum;
failure to do so might
result in electric
shock.

To empty the Dust Cup:

Wrap a trash bag around the
Dust Cup leaving space at the
bottom for the door to swing
open.
Note: Some dust and debris
may remain in the top of your
dust cup on or near the metal
screen. It is not necessary to
completely remove this material
before continuing to vacuum;
Shark® advanced cyclonic ac-
tion will sweep the metal screen
clean once you begin to refill
your dust cup.

Proper Care of Your Vacuum

To clean the post-motor HEPA filter:

Remove the filter cover from the front of the
vacuum by pulling up on the tab and pulling the
cover away from the vacuum.

Take out the HEPA filter by pulling it straight out.
Turn the HEPA filter over so that the dirty side is
on the bottom and vigorously tap it clean against
a garbage can to remove any dust.
To clean the pre-motor filters:

Wash the HEPA filter under the tap using
lukewarm water with the dirty side face down
until the water runs clear.

Remove the dust cup.

Pull the 2 filters out from the top of the motor
base.
DO NOT put the HEPA filter in the washing
machine or dishwasher.

Rinse the filters thoroughly in lukewarm water until
the water runs clear.
NOTE: The material in the filter will discolor over
time. This is NORMAL and will not affect the
performance of the filter.
DO NOT put the filters in the washing machine or
dishwasher.

Allow the HEPA filter to air dry for 24 hours. Do
not use a hair dryer or other heating methods to
dry.
NOTE: The material in the filters will discolor

Once the HEPA filter is dry, replace it back into the
vacuum.

Squeeze out excess water and let air-dry for at
least 24 hours before replacing. Do not use a hair
dryer or other heating methods to dry.
Replace the cover by inserting the two tabs into
the holes at the bottom and then swinging the
cover up until it clicks into place.

Place the felt filter in first, then the foam filter.
Replace the dust cup.

Troubleshooting
WARNING:
to reduce the risk of electric shock, the power cord must be disconnected before performing maintenance/
troubleshooting checks.

Check filters to see if they need cleaning. Follow instructions for rinsing
and drying the filters before re-inserting back into the vacuum. (See
“Maintenance” sections for instructions.)
Vacuum is not
picking up dirt.

If dust cup is empty, and attachment inlets are clear, check for other

Vacuum lifts scatter rugs
(lightweight, movable
rugs).
Suction is powerful. Take care when vacuuming scatter-type rugs or rugs with
delicately sewn edges. Open the suction release on the hose to decrease
suction power.
Check filters to see if they need cleaning. Follow instructions for rinsing
and drying the filters before re-inserting back into the vacuum. (See
“Maintenance” sections for instructions.)
Dust cup may be full; empty dust cup.
Airflow is restricted. No
suction or light suction.
Check hose, hose connections, nozzles and accessories for blockages; clear
blockages if required.
Close the suction release on the hose to increase suction power.
If dust cup is empty, and attachment inlets are clear, check for other
blockages. (See “Checking for Blockages” for instructions.)
Motorized floor brush
has become jammed or
has shut off.
Immediately turn off and unplug vacuum, disconnect the nozzle and remove
blockage before reconnecting and turning vacuum back on. (See “Checking
for Blockages” for instructions.)
This vacuum cleaner is equipped with a motor protective thermostat. If for
some reason your vacuum overheats, the thermostat will automatically turn
the unit off. Should this occur, perform the following steps to restart the
motor thermostat:
1. Move the On/Off switch to the “O” (Off) position.
2. Unplug the vacuum.
3. Empty the dust cup and clean filters. (See “Maintenance” sections for
instructions.)
4. Check for blockages in hose, accessories and inlet openings.
(See “Checking for Blockages” for instructions.)
5. Allow the unit to cool for a minimum of 45 minutes.
Vacuum turns off on its

7. Turn the On/Off switch to the “I” (On) position to restart the vacuum.

Professional Vacuum is equipped
with a protective Motor Thermostat.
If the motor should overheat, the
thermostat shuts off the power.
When your motorized floor brush
needs cleaning or locks onto an
object, it automatically shuts
down to prevent damage to your
lifetime belt. The indicator light
will illuminate red warning you
to turn off the vacuum and clear
blockage immediately. The light will
reset itself once blockage has been
cleared and power has been cycled
on/off or vacuum has been locked in
the upright position.
To reset the Motor Thermostat:

EURO-PRO Operating LLC warrants this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of
five (5) years from the date of the original purchase, when utilized for normal commercial or normal household use,
subject to the following conditions, exclusions and exceptions.
If your appliance fails to operate properly while in use under normal commercial or normal household conditions
within the warranty period, return the complete appliance and accessories, freight prepaid to:

replacement are specifically excluded from warranty.
The liability of EURO-PRO Operating LLC is limited solely to the cost of the repair or replacement of the unit
at our option. This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts and does not apply to any unit that has been
tampered with or used for commercial purposes. This limited warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse,
abuse, negligent handling or damage due to faulty packaging or mishandling in transit. This warranty does not cover
damage or defects caused by or resulting from damages from shipping or repairs, service or alterations to the product
or any of its parts, which have been performed by a repair person not authorized by EURO-PRO Operating LLC.
This warranty is extended to the original purchaser of the unit and excludes all other legal and/or conventional
warranties. The responsibility of EURO-PRO Operating LLC if any, is limited to the specific obligations expressly
assumed by it under the terms of the limited warranty. In no event is EURO-PRO Operating LLC liable for incidental
or consequential damages of any nature whatsoever. Some states do not permit the exclusion or limitation of
incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state or
province to province.
*IMPORTANT: Carefully pack item to avoid damage in shipping. Be sure to include proof of purchase
date and to attach tag to item before packing with your name, complete address and phone number
with a note giving purchase information, model number and what you believe is the problem
with item. We recommend you insure the package (as damage in shipping is not covered by your
warranty). Mark the outside of your package “ATTENTION CUSTOMER SERVICE”. We are constantly
striving to improve our products, therefore the specifications contained herein are subject to change

bien échappé dans l’eau, veuillez le retourner à

pour un ajustement ou pour une réparation.

INSTRUCTIONS DE MISE À LA TERRE
Cet appareil doit être mise à la terre. En cas de
déffaillance ou de panne, la mise à la terre au
courant un chemin de moindre résistance au qui
réduit le risque de choc électrique. Cet appareil
est pourvu d'un cordon muni d'un conducteur
de terre et d'une fiche avec broche de terre.
La fiche doit être branchée dans une prise
appropriée correctement installée et mise à la terre
conformément à la réglements et ordonnances
municipaux.

l'aspirateur par le cordon.

souillé vers le bas, jusqu’à ce que l’eau soit claire.

Rincez abondamment les filtres dans de l’eau tiède

AVERTISSEMENT:
Pour réduire le risque de chocs électriques, le cordon d’alimentation doit être débranché avant de faire
l’entretien ou d'essayer de trouver le problème.
PROBLÈME
CAUSES ET SOLUTIONS POSSIBLES
Vérifiez les filtres pour voir s’ils ont besoin d’être nettoyés. Suivez les instructions
pour savoir comment rincer et sécher les filtres avant de les réinstaller dans
l'aspirateur. (Voir la section « Entretien » pour la marche à suivre.)
Le récipient à poussière est peut-être plein; videz-le.
Vérifiez le boyau et les connections du boyau pour toutes obstructions; dégagez-
les si nécessaire.
L'aspirateur ne
ramasse pas la poussière.
Si le récipient à poussière est vide et que les orifices d'entrée des accessoires
sont libres, vérifiez pour d'autres obstructions. (Voir « Vérification des
obstructions » pour la marche à suivre.)
L'aspirateur soulève les
carpettes (tapis légers et
mobiles).
L'aspiration est puissante. Soyez prudent lorsque vous passez l'aspirateur sur des
tapis de style carpette ou avec des bords à coutures délicates. Ouvrez la sortie
d'aspiration située sur le boyau pour réduire la puissance d'aspiration.

Aucune aspiration ou peu
d'aspiration.
Vérifiez le boyau, les connections, les suceurs et les accessoires pour toutes
obstructions; dégagez-les si nécessaire.
Fermez la sortie d'aspiration située sur le boyau pour augmenter la puissance
d'aspiration.
Si le récipient à poussière est vide et que les orifices d'entrée des accessoires
sont libres, vérifiez pour d'autres obstructions. (Voir « Vérification des
obstructions » pour la marche à suivre.)
La brosse à plancher
motorisée est bloquée ou
s'est arrêtée.
Éteignez et débranchez immédiatement l'aspirateur, débranchez le suceur et
enlevez les obstructions avant de rebrancher et de remettre l'aspirateur en
marche. (Voir « Vérification des obstructions » pour la marche à suivre.)
Cet aspirateur est pourvu d'un thermostat de protection du moteur. Si
pour quelque raison votre aspirateur surchauffait, le thermostat éteindrait
automatiquement l’appareil. Si cela se produisait, suivez les étapes suivantes
pour remettre en marche le thermostat du moteur :
1. Déplacez l'interrupteur marche / arrêt à la position « O » (Off).
2. Débranchez l’aspirateur.
3. Videz le récipient à poussière et nettoyez les filtres. (Voir la section «
Entretien » pour la marche à suivre.)
L'aspirateur s'éteint par
lui-même.
4. Vérifiez pour des obstructions dans le boyau, dans les accessoires et dans
les orifices d'entrée. (Voir « Vérification des obstructions » pour la marche
à suivre.)
5. Laissez refroidir l’appareil pendant au moins 45 minutes.
6. Branchez l'aspirateur.
7. Tournez l'interrupteur marche / arrêt à la position « I – (On) » pour
remettre l'aspirateur en marche.
Remarque : si l'aspirateur ne démarre toujours pas, contactez le service à la
clientèle au : 1-800-798-7395.

verticale.
Enlevez l'assemblage du
récipient à poussière et videz-le
si nécessaire.
Déposez l'aspirateur à plat.
Enlevez le suceur, le boyau et
vérifiez pour des obstructions.
Repoussez le connecteur du
boyau sur la tête à plancher
motorisée.
Veuillez bien
réassembler toutes
les pièces avant de
réutiliser l'aspirateur.
Débranchez le boyau super
extensible.

Boyau :
Vérifiez l'entrée d'air à l'arrière
du récipient à poussière pour
toutes obstructions; dégagez-les
avant de remettre en place le
récipient.
Entrée d'air à l'arrière de la
brosse à tapis :
Déposez l'aspirateur à plat pour
exposer la brosse à tapis.
Vérifiez l'ouverture à l'arrière
de la brosse à tapis pour des
obstructions.
Veuillez mettre l'aspirateur en
position verticale.
Enlevez le boyau des extrémités
de l'appareil et du tube-rallonge
de nettoyage.
Inspectez les deux extrémités et
la longueur du boyau pour des
obstructions.
Les obstructions peuvent occasionner
une surchauffe et éteindre votre
aspirateur. Si cela se produit,
dégagez les obstructions, puis suivez
les instructions pour réinitialiser
le thermostat du moteur à la
page 26.

Replacez le boyau sur l'appareil.
AVERTISSEMENT : n'insérez
jamais d’objets pointus dans
une ouverture dans le but de la
dégager.
Débloquez l'ouverture.
IMPORTANT : tout dommage
causé alors que vous dégagez
ou tentez de dégager une
obstruction, n'est pas couvert
par la garantie limitée de votre

Débloquez la brosse à tapis;
utilisez des ciseaux pour couper
soigneusement les fils, cheveux
ou autres débris qui pourraient
être pris dans les poils de soie.

complet. Enlevez tous les débris
de la roue de turbine et de la
conduite d’air.

Lorsque votre brosse à plancher
motorisée nécessite un nettoyage
ou si elle demeure coincée

protection du moteur. Si le moteur
venait qu'à surchauffer, le thermostat
coupe l'alimentation.

Le témoin lumineux deviendra
rouge pour vous avertir d'éteindre
l'aspirateur et de dégager
immédiatement l'obstruction. La
lumière se réinitialisera d'elle-même
lorsque l'obstruction aura été
dégagée et que l'alimentation aura
été mise en marche et éteinte ou
que l'aspirateur aura été verrouillé
en position verticale.
Pour réinitialiser le thermostat
du moteur :
Tournez le bouton d'alimentation à
la position « O – Off ».

Débranchez l’aspirateur.

bouché, débouchez le boyau et
replacez le filtre. Référez-vous à la

Veuillez attendre 45 minutes afin de
laisser l’aspirateur se refroidir; puis
branchez-le.
Tournez le bouton d'alimentation à
la position « I – On » pour mettre
l'aspirateur en marche.
