Introducing the SATA-to-IDE Adapter  
The SATA-to-IDE Adapter allows you to connect existing  
Ultra ATA 150/133/100/66 hard disk drives and ATAPI  
devices to the latest Serial ATA host adapter.

Hardware Installation  
Static Electricity Discharge may permanently damage  
your system. Discharge any static electricity build up in  
your body by touching your computer case for a few  
seconds. Avoid any contact with internal parts and  
handle cards only by their external edges.  
1. Turn OFF the power to your computer.  
2. Unplugthepowercordandremoveyourcomputer's  
cover.  
3. Using the jumper setting on the Ultra ATA/ATAPI  
device, set the device to Master. Read the Ultra  
ATA/ATAPI device's user's manual for more  
information. Important: Your device must be set to  
Master in order for it to work properly through the  
SATA-to-IDE Adapter.  
4. ConnecttheSATA-to-IDEAdaptertotheUltraATA/  
ATAPI device, refer to Figure 2 and 3.

5. Connect the SATA data cable to the SATA-to-IDE  
Adapter, refer to Figure 4 and 5.

6. Connect the "Y" split power cable to the SATA-to-  
IDE Adapter, refer to Figure 6 and 7.

7. Connect the other end of the SATA data cable to an  
available Serial ATA port on the Serial ATA host  
adapter or motherboard.

8. Connect the "Y" split power connector to power the  
Ultra ATA/ATAPI device, refer to Figure 8.

Connect the other end of the Ysplit power cable  
to the system power source.  
10. Hardware installation is now complete.  
11. Replacethecomputercoverandreconnectthepower  
cord.

Step 1: Submit your RMA request.  
Go to www.siig.com, click Support, then RMA to submit a  
request to SIIG RMA. If the product is determined to be  
defective, an RMA number will be issued.  
Step 2: After obtaining an RMA number, ship the product.  
Properly pack the product for shipping. All software, cable(s)  
and any other accessories that came with the original package  
must be included.  
Clearly write your RMA number on the top of the returned  
package. SIIG will refuse to accept any shipping package, and  
will not be responsible for a product returned without an  
RMA number posted on the outside of the shipping carton.  
You are responsible for the cost of shipping. Ship the product
