Introduction

The Samson MXS2800 is a stereo power amplifier boasting an abundance of power in a

lightweight single rack-space design. It has been designed to provide solid, clean output

with low distortion and wide dynamic range, along with the dependability demanded by

professional front-of-house engineers and installers.

The efficient Class D design provides 1700 watts of stereo power safely into loads as

low as 2 ohms, over the full audio frequency band, from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Connections

are made via both balanced XLR and RCA input connectors and Speakon® output

connectors. To help you set the correct operating levels, the MXS 2800 amplifiers

include front panel Signal Level, Peak and Protection LED indicators.

Like all Samson power amplifiers, the MXS2800’s internal electronics are based around

a serious power-core, with a robust power supply built to handle large current demand

from bass frequencies. To keep the MXS2800 amplifiers running cool, the design

employs forced-air cooling via a temperature-sensitive, variable speed fan, which greatly

reduces the chance of thermal and overheating problems. Multi-stage protection for

power-up, short circuit, DC output, over current, and thermal, assures high reliability

under the most grueling situations.

Optimized for portable sound applications but is perfectly suited for live sound venues,

houses of worship, commercial installations. The MXS2800 amplifiers will deliver

reliable power from gig-to-gig and venue-to-venue. In the following pages, you’ll find a

Getting Started with the MXS2800

Setting up your MXS2800 amplifier is a simple procedure which takes only a few

minutes:

Remove all packing materials (save them in case your units needs future service) and

decide where the amplifier is to be physically placed—it can be used free-standing

or mounted in a standard 19” rack, requiring a single rack space. When installed,

make sure that both the front and rear panels are unobstructed and that there is good

ventilation around the entire unit.

When making speaker connections, use the Speakon®

output connectors on the rear panel. It is never a good

idea to power up any amplifier that is not connected to

loudspeakers.

To make the signal input connections, use the input connectors on

the rear panel.

On the front panel of the MXS2800, turn both Channel level controls

fully counterclockwise (to their minimum setting). Then connect the

supplied heavy-gauge 3-pin power cable to the rear panel AC input

and to any grounded AC socket.

Turn the Power switch ON.

Apply an input signal to the MXS2800 at or about +4dBu (if sending

signal from a mixer, drive the output meters at approximately 0 vu). While the input

signal is present, slowly raise the Channel level controls until the desired sound level is

achieved.

For the best signal-to-noise

ratio, the MXS2800 should

normally be run with the

Front Callouts

1. POWER Switch - Use this push button switch to power the MXS2800 amplifier on or

off

2. Channel Level Controls - Two detent controls to precisely adjust the output level of

each channel.

3. PEAK - The PEAK indicator lights whenever the channel is outputting signal at full

strength. For the best signal-to-noise ratio, the right (PEAK) segment should light

occasionally during peak levels; if it lights frequently, you may be overloading the

amplifier and a distorted (“clipped”) signal is probably being output.

4. Audio Indicators - The front panel LED indicators continuously monitor the power

output level for the corresponding channel. For optimum signal-to-noise ratio, set

the level controls so that -6dB is constantly illuminated, with occasional, but not

steady excursions to the red PEAK segment.

5. ACTIVE Indicators - These indicators will illuminate when the power switch is turned

on and the unit is ready to pass audio.

6. PROTECT Indicators - These LED indicators will light when a fault (Short Circuit, DC

Output, Over Current, or Thermal) is detected. The indicators will also light when

the amplifier is first turned on, until the amplifier is ready to pass audio and the

ACTIVE indicators illuminate.

Rear Callouts

1. Input Connectors - Connect incoming signal to these electronically balanced XLR or

unbalanced RCA jacks.

2. MODE Switch - For normal operation, place this three-way switch in the STEREO posi-

tion. When placed in its BRIDGE position, the signal arriving at the Ch A input only

is again routed to both power amplifiers (the Ch B input is ignored), but the two

power amplifiers are bridged together.

3. Exhaust Fan - This variable-speed fan provides cooling to amplifier. Make sure that

both the front and rear panels are kept free of all obstructions and that cool, fresh

air is accessible at all times.

4. Speakon® Output Connectors - Use these to connect each channel of the amplifier to

your loudspeakers.

5. AC Input - Connect the supplied heavy-gauge 3-pin “IEC” power cable here

Bridge Mode

The MXS2800 power amplifier provides a

rear-panel switch that allows it to be used

in either a Stereo or Bridge mode. When

this switch is placed in the STEREO position,

the MXS2800 functions as a true stereo

amplifier, where both of the two independent

amplifier channels (Ch A and Ch B) can

receive different input signals and produce

independent output signals. However, when

the switch is placed in the BRIDGE position,

the Ch A input signal is routed to both power

amplifiers bridged together, producing a

single output signal.

Bridge Mode

The illustration on the left shows how this

works. In Bridge mode, the polarity (phase) of

the Ch B output signal is reversed relative

to that of the Ch A output signal. Both

channels then process the same input signal,

with the speaker load connected so that

power is derived from both channels. The

effective voltage swing seen by the load is

thus doubled, so that the power output is

multiplied by four.

Bridge Wiring

When using the MXS2800 in Bridge mode,

connect the amplifier to a loudspeaker using

a Speakon® connector plugged into the CH A

output, wired +1 for the positive input of the

speaker and +2 for the negative input of the

speaker.

13. Utilisez-le uniquement avec le chariot, le trépied, un support ou une table

Introduction

Le Samson MXS2800 est un amplificateur de puissance stéréo qui délivre beaucoup

Bien commencer à utiliser le MXS2800

L'installation de l'amplificateur MXS2800 est simple et ne prend que quelques minutes :

retirer tout l'emballage (conservez-les si vous devez renvoyer l'appareil pour un entretien

futur) et choisissez l'emplacement physique de l'amplificateur—il peut être installé de

manière autonome ou fixé sur un rack de 19” standard, et ne prend qu'un emplacement

sur le rack. Une fois installé, assurez-vous que les panneaux avant et arrière ne sont pas

obstrués et que l'unité complète est correctement ventilée.

Lors du raccordement des haut-parleurs, utilisez

les connecteurs de sortie Speakon® situés sur le

panneau arrière. Il n'est pas recommandé d'utiliser un

amplificateur sans le connecter à des haut-parleurs.

Pour effectuer les connexions d'entrée

du signal, utilisez les connecteurs

situés sur le panneau arrière.

Sur le panneau avant du MXS2800, tournez à fond les deux

commandes de niveau de canal dans le sens contraire des aiguilles

d'une montre (sur le réglage minimum). Puis connectez le câble

d'alimentation à 3 broches de grosse section fourni sur l'entrée CA du

panneau arrière et à une prise CA mise à la terre quelconque.

Placez le commutateur d'alimentation sur ON (ARRET).

Appliquez un signal d'entrée au MXS2800 à +4dBu ou environ (si le

signal est transmis par un mixeur, placez les compteurs de sortie sur une

valeur approximative de 0 vu). Alors que le signal est présent, augmentez progressivement

les commandes de niveau de canal jusqu'à obtenir le niveau sonore souhaité.

Pour obtenir le meilleur rapport

signal/bruit, le MXS2800 doit

normalement fonctionner avec

canal aux maximum ou presque

Indications sur la face avant

1. Commutateur D'ALIMENTATION - Utilisez ce bouton pour mettre sous et hors tension

l'amplificateur MXS2800

2. Commandes de niveau de canal - Deux commandes à cran qui permettent de régler

avec précision le niveau de sortie de chaque canal.

3. PEAK (CRETE) - Le voyant PEAK (CRETE) s'allume dès que le canal transmet le

signal de sortie est transmis à pleine puissance. Pour obtenir le meilleur rapport son/

bruit, le segment droit (PEAK - CRETE) doit s'allumer occasionnellement lorsque les

niveaux sont très élevés ; s'il s'allume fréquemment, l'amplificateur est peut-être en

surcharge et un signal distordu (écrêté) est sûrement en cours de transmission.

4. Voyants audio - Les voyants à LED du panneau avant surveillent en permanence

le niveau de sortie de puissance du canal correspondant. Pour obtenir un rapport

signal/bruit optimal, réglez les commandes de niveau afin que le voyant -6dB soit

allumé en permanence, avec des passages occasionnels, mais non permanents au

segment rouge PEAK (CRETE).

5. Voyants ACTIFS - Ces voyants s'allument lorsque le commutateur d'alimentation est

Indications sur la face arrière

1. Connecteurs d'entrée - Branchez le signal entrant à ces prises XLR équilibrées ou

RCA non équilibrées électroniquement.

2. Commutateur MODE - Pour un fonctionnement normal, placez ce commutateur 3

voies en position STEREO. Lorsque le commutateur est placé en position BRIDGE

(PASSERELLE), seul le signal qui arrive à l'entrée du canal A est acheminé à nouveau

vers les deux amplificateurs de puissance (l'entrée du canal B est ignorée), mais les

deux amplificateurs de puissance sont reliés entre eux.

3. Ventilateur d'échappement - Ce ventilateur à vitesse variable assure le rafraîchisse-

ment de l'amplificateur. Assurez-vous que les deux panneaux avant et arrière ne

sont pas obstrués et que l'air frais peut y accéder à tout moment.

4. Connecteurs de sortie Speakon® - Utilisez ces connecteurs pour brancher chaque

canal de l'amplificateur à vos haut-parleurs.

Mode passerelle

L'amplificateur de puissance MXS2800

est équipé d'un commutateur situé sur le

panneau arrière qui permet de l'utiliser

en mode stéréo ou passerelle. Lorsque ce

commutateur est placé en position STEREO, le

MXS2800 fonctionne en tant qu'amplificateur

stéréo réel, c'est-à-dire que les deux canaux

indépendants de l'amplificateur (Ch A

et Ch B) peuvent recevoir des signaux

d'entrée différents et produire des signaux

de sortie indépendants. Cependant, si le

commutateur est placé dans la position

BRIDGE (PASSERELLE), le signal d'entrée du

canal A est acheminé aux deux amplificateurs

de puissances reliés par une passerelle, ce qui

produit un seul signal de sortie.

spezifiziert hat.

10. Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker des Geräts, wenn ein Gewitter aufzieht oder das Gerät

längere Zeit ungenutzt bleibt.

11. Die Schutzfunktion des Schukosteckers (oder eines anderen geerdeten Steckers)

darf nicht beeinträchtigt werden. Ein geerdeter Stecker besitzt zwei Kontakte, einen

breiten und einen schmalen. Ein Schutzkontaktstecker besitzt zwei Kontakte und einen

Kontaktstift für die Erdung. Der breite Kontakt (der dritte Kontaktstift) schützt den

Nutzer. Falls der mitgelieferte Stecker nicht in die Steckdose am Aufstellort passt,

lassen Sie die Steckdose bitte fachgerecht erneuern.

12. Achten Sie darauf, nicht auf das Netzkabel zu treten und dieses nicht

einzuklemmen. Dies gilt insbesondere für den Bereich von Stecker,

Steckdose sowie die Stelle, an der das Kabel aus dem Gerät kommt.

13. Verwenden Sie nur dann ein Gehäuse auf Rollen, ein Stativ oder einen

Tisch, wenn dieser/dieses vom Hersteller spezifiziert ist oder zum

Lieferumfang des Geräts gehört. Wenn Sie ein Gehäuse auf Rollen

verwenden, seien Sie äußerst vorsichtig, wenn Sie den Wagen samt

Gerät verschieben. Wenn der Wagen kippt, kann es zu Verletzungen kommen.

14. Überlassen Sie Wartung und Reparaturen ausschließlich qualifizierten Fachkräften.

Eine Reparatur ist erforderlich, wenn das Gerät beschädigt wurde (z. B. Beschädigung

des Stromkabels oder Steckers, Verschütten von Flüssigkeit auf oder Hineinfallen von

Gegenständen in das Gerät) oder wenn das Gerät Regen oder Feuchtigkeit ausgesetzt

wurde, nicht ordnungsgemäß funktioniert oder fallen gelassen wurde.

15. HAUPTTRENNSCHALTER: Der Stecker muss jederzeit verwendbar sein. Bei Befestigung

im Rack oder Einbau an Orten, an denen kein Steckdosenzugang möglich ist, muss der

Schalter für die Hauptstromversorgung mit allen Kontakten mit einer Kontakttrennung

von mindestens 3 mm pro Pol in die Elektrik des Racks oder Gebäudes integriert werden.

16. BEI MIT VON AUSSEN ZUGÄNGLICHER SICHERUNGSFASSUNG AUSGESTATTETEN GERÄTEN:

Ersetzen Sie die Sicherung durch eine des gleichen Typs mit den gleichen Nennwerten.

Einführung

Die Samson MXS2800 ist eine Stereo-Endstufe mit großen Leistungsreserven in Leicht-

bauweise, die im Rack nur eine Höheneinheit benötigt. Sie wurde auf ein robustes,

sauberes und weitgehend verzerrungsfreies Klangerlebnis hin konstruiert und hat einen

breiten Aussteuerungsbereich. Sie bietet die Zuverlässigkeit, die professionelle Ton- und

Bühnentechniker erwarten.

Das effiziente Design der Klasse D stellt im Stereobetrieb bei Lasten bis zu 2 Ohm über

das gesamte relevante Frequenzband von 20 Hz bis 20 kHz eine Leistung von 1700 Watt

zur Verfügung. Die Anschlüsse sind als symmetrische XLR-Buchsen, Cinch-Buchsen sowie

Speakon®-Ausgänge ausgeführt. Um Ihnen das Einstellen der gewünschten Betriebspara-

meter zu erleichtern, besitzen die MXS 2800 an der vorderen Bedieneinheit die LED-An-

zeigen Signal Level (Signalpegel), Peak (Pegelspitzen) und Protection (Schutz).

Wie bei allen Endstufen von Samson basiert die interne Elektronik auch bei der MXS2800

auf einem großzügig dimensionierten Ringkerntransformator mit robuster Stromversor-

gung, um die große Stromaufnahme bei tiefen Frequenzen problemlos zu handhaben.

Damit die MXS2800 kühl bleibt, wird während des Betriebs Kühlluft zugeführt. Diese

Aufgabe übernimmt ein temperatursensorgesteuertes Gebläse mit variabler Drehzahl.

Hierdurch entstehen durch Erwärmung und Überhitzung verursachte Probleme weitaus

weniger häufig. Mehrstufiger Schutz beim Einschalten sowie während des Betriebs vor

Kurzschluss, Gleichspannung, Überlaststrom und Überhitzung ermöglicht hohe Zuverläs-

sigkeit – auch beim Einsatz unter extrem anspruchsvollen Bedingungen.

Die Endstufe eignet sich optimal für mobile Einsätze, ist aber auch für Festinstallationen

im Bereich Livemusik, in Kirchen und andere Versammlungsorte wie gemacht.

Erste Schritte mit Ihrer MXS2800

Die Inbetriebnahme Ihrer MXS2800-Endstufe ist ein einfacher Vorgang, der nur wenige

Minuten in Anspruch nimmt:

Entfernen Sie das gesamte Verpackungsmaterial (wir empfehlen jedoch, dieses

aufzubewahren, falls Sie es später noch einmal benötigen). Suchen Sie nun einen

geeigneten Aufstellort für Ihre Endstufe aus. Sie kann frei aufgestellt oder in ein

19-Zoll-Standardrack integriert werden; letzteres belegt eine Höheneinheit im Rack.

Vergewissern Sie sich beim Aufstellen, dass Vorder- und Rückseite des Geräts frei

zugänglich sind und dass für eine gute Entlüftung der

gesamten Anlage gesorgt ist.

Schließen Sie die Lautsprecher mithilfe der Speakon®-

Steckverbinder auf der Geräterückseite an. Es ist

grundsätzlich davon abzuraten, einen Verstärker

in Betrieb zu nehmen, an den keine Lautsprecher

angeschlossen sind.

Stellen Sie als nächstes die Signaleingangsverbindungen her.

Verwenden Sie hierfür die Eingangsbuchsen an der Geräterückseite.

Drehen Sie an der Vorderseite Ihrer MXS2800 beide Kanalregler

bis zum Anschlag entgegen dem Uhrzeigersinn (bis zur Einstellung

„MIN“). Stecken Sie anschließend das eine Ende des mitgelieferten

dreipoligen Netzkabels in die entsprechende Buchse hinten am Gerät

ein und das andere Ende in eine Schuko-Steckdose.

Schalten Sie den Ein/Aus-Schalter auf ON.

Legen Sie ein Eingangssignal von ca. +4 dBu an Ihre MXS2800 an (wenn Sie das Signal

von einem Mischpult aus senden, stellen Sie die Pegelmesser für den Ausgangspegel

auf ca. 0 vu ein). Wenn

ein Eingangssignal anliegt,

erhöhen Sie langsam den Pegel

für den jeweiligen Kanal, bis

der gewünschte Ausgangspegel

erreicht ist.

Um ein optimales Signal-

Rausch-Verhältnis zu erhalten,

sollten sich beim Betrieb

der MXS2800 im Normalfall

die Bedienelemente für

den Kanaleingang in der

Höchstposition (vollständig im

Uhrzeigersinn) befinden. Die

PEAK-Segmente sollten bei

Beanspruchung gelegentlich

(aber nicht häufig) aufleuchten, wenn es zu Pegelspitzen kommt.

Beschriftungen an der Gerätevorderseite

1. POWER-Schalter - Mit diesem Druckknopf können Sie die MXS2800-Endstufe

ein- und ausschalten.

2. Kanalpegel-Regler - Zwei gestufte Regler zum präzisen Einstellen des

Ausgangspegels der Kanäle.

3. PEAK - Die PEAK-LED leuchtet auf, wenn der Pegel des Ausgangssignals voll

ausgesteuert ist. Um ein optimales Signal-Rausch-Verhältnis zu erhalten, sollte

das rechte Segment (PEAK) gelegentlich aufleuchten, wenn es zu Pegelspitzen

kommt. Wenn es häufig aufleuchtet, ist die Endstufe u. U. übersteuert und es wird

möglicherweise ein verzerrtes Signal („Clipping“) ausgegeben.

4. Signalanzeigen - Die LED-Anzeigen an der Gerätevorderseite überwachen

kontinuierlich den Pegel der Ausgangsleistung für den jeweiligen Kanal. Um ein

optimales Signal-Rausch-Verhältnis zu erhalten, stellen Sie die Pegelregler so ein,

dass -6 dB kontinuierlich und das PEAK-Segment gelegentlich leuchtet.

5. ACTIVE-LEDs - Diese LEDs leuchten auf, wenn der Power-Schalter eingeschaltet ist

und das Gerät für die Verarbeitung von Audiosignalen bereit ist.

6. PROTECT-LEDs - Diese LEDs leuchten auf, wenn ein Fehler (Kurzschluss,

Gleichstrom am Ausgang, Überstrom oder Überhitzung) erkannt wurde. Diese

LEDs leuchten auch beim Einschalten der Endstufe auf, bis sie zur Verarbeitung

von Audiosignalen bereit ist und die ACTIVE-LEDs aufleuchten.

Beschriftungen an der Geräterückseite

1. Eingangsbuchsen - Schließen Sie die Eingangssignale an diese symmetrischen

XLR- oder unsymmetrischen Cinch-Buchsen an.

Die MXS2800-Endstufe verfügt über einen

arbeitet die MXS2800 als Stereo-Endstufe,

(Ch A und Ch B) unterschiedliche

Introducción

El Samson MXS2800 es un amplificador de potencia estéreo con abundante potencia

en un diseño ligero de un solo espacio de rack. Ha sido diseñado para proporcionar una

salida sólida y clara, con baja distorsión y amplio rango dinámico, junto con la fiabilidad

Introducción al MXS2800

La configuración de su amplificador MXS2800 es un procedimiento sencillo que le

llevará solo unos minutos:

Retire todos los materiales de embalaje (guárdelos para el caso en que su unidad

requiera reparación) y decida dónde colocará el amplificador; se puede usar de forma

independiente o montado en un rack normal de 19", donde ocupa un solo espacio. Una

vez instalado, asegúrese de que tanto el panel frontal como el trasero estén libres de

obstrucciones, y de que haya una buena ventilación alrededor de toda la unidad.

Para conectar los altavoces, utilice los conectores

de salida Speakon® del panel trasero. Nunca es

recomendable encender un amplificador que no esté

conectado a altavoces.

Para hacer las conexiones de entrada de señal, use los conectores de

entrada del panel trasero.

En el panel frontal del MXS2800, gire los dos mandos de nivel

de canal completamente a la izquierda (a su ajuste mínimo). A

continuación, conecte el cable de alimentación de 3 pines reforzado

(que se incluye) a la entrada de CA del panel trasero y a cualquier

toma de CA con conexión a tierra.

6. Indicadores de PROTECCIÓN - Estos indicadores LED se iluminarán cuando una falla

(cortocircuito, salida de CC, sobrecarga o térmica) se detecte. Los indicadores

también se iluminarán cuando el amplificador se encienda inicialmente, hasta que el

amplificador se encuentre listo para pasar audio y se iluminen los indicadores ACTIVOS.

El amplificador de potencia MXS2800

este interruptor en la posición ESTÉREO, el

MXS2800 funciona como un amplificador

estéreo verdadero, donde ambos canales (Ch

a terra è dotata di due poli e di un terzo terminale di massa. Il polo più largo,

o terzo terminale, è presente per sicurezza. Se la spina in dotazione non è adatta

alla presa, rivolgersi a un elettricista per la sostituzione della presa obsoleta.

12. Fare in modo che il cavo di alimentazione non venga calpestato o schiacciato,

soprattutto in corrispondenza di spine, prese e nel punto di uscita dall’apparecchio.

13. Utilizzare il prodotto soltanto con i carrelli di supporto, le staffe a treppiede

o i tavoli specificati dal produttore o venduti insieme all’apparecchio.

Quando si utilizza un carrello, prestare attenzione durante lo

spostamento dell’insieme carrello/apparecchio per evitare di

rovesciarlo causando lesioni.

14. Affidare la manutenzione a personale di assistenza qualificato. Gli

interventi di assistenza si rendono necessari se l'apparecchio ha

subito danni di qualsiasi tipo, ad esempio in caso di rottura del

cavo di alimentazione o della spina, per via di danni dovuti all'ingresso di liquidi

o alla caduta di oggetti sull'apparecchio, se l'apparecchio è stato esposto alla

15. SCOLLEGAMENTO DI RETE: La spina deve rimanere facilmente accessibile. Nel

caso di installazione su rack o di installazioni in cui la spina non sia accessibile,

un interruttore omnipolare con una distanza di contatto di almeno 3 mm a ciascun

Introduzione

Il Samson MXS2800 è un amplificatore stereo che offre potenza in abbondanza con un

design leggero a rack singolo. È stato concepito per garantire un'uscita solida e pulita,

caratterizzata da una bassa distorsione e da una vasta gamma dinamica, oltre all'affida-

bilità richiesta da tecnici e installatori professionisti addetti all'organizzazione.

L'efficiente design di classe D garantisce 1700 watt di potenza stereo in sicurezza con

carichi di soli 2 ohm rispetto alla banda di frequenza audio completa, da 20 Hz a 20

kHz. I collegamenti vengono effettuati tramite connettori di ingresso bilanciati XLR ed

RCA e connettori di uscita Speakon®. Per aiutare a impostare i giusti livelli operativi, gli

amplificatori MXS 2800 presentano sul pannello anteriore indicatori a LED di livello di

segnale, picco e protezione.

Come nel caso di tutti gli amplificatori Samson,l'elettronica interna dell'MXS2800 è

basata intorno a un cuore potente, con una solida alimentazione concepita per gestire

un'importante richiesta di corrente da parte delle frequenze dei bassi. Per garantire

che gli amplificatori MXS 2800 rimangano freddi durante il loro funzionamento, il

loro design impiega un raffreddamento forzato dell'aria tramite una ventola a velocità

variabile, che riduce notevolmente la possibilità che si verifichino problemi termici e di

surriscaldamento. Protezione multifase per accensione, cortocircuito, uscita CC, sovra-

Primi passi con l'MXS2800

La configurazione dell'amplificatore MXS2800 è una procedura semplice che richiede

solo pochi minuti:

Rimuovere tutti i materiali da imballaggio (conservarli per il caso in cui dovesse

rendersi necessario richiedere assistenza per l'apparecchio) e decidere dove collocare

l'amplificatore; questo può essere utilizzato da pavimento o montato in un rack

standard da 19", occupando un solo spazio del rack. Una volta installato, assicurarsi

che il pannello anteriore e quello posteriore non siano ostruiti e che vi sia una buona

ventilazione intorno all'intero apparecchio.

Al momento di effettuare i collegamenti

dell'altoparlante, servirsi dei connettori di uscita

Speakon® presenti a livello del pannello posteriore.

Non accendere amplificatori che non siano collegati ad

altoparlanti.

Per effettuare i collegamenti dell'ingresso di segnale, servirsi dei

connettori di ingresso a livello del pannello posteriore.

Sul pannello anteriore dell'MXS2800, girare entrambi i comandi

di livello di canale a fondo in senso antiorario (fino alla loro

impostazione minima). Collegare quindi il cavo di alimentazione di

sezione elevata a 3 poli in dotazione a livello dell'ingresso CA sul

pannello posteriore e a qualsiasi presa CA messa a terra.

Accendere l'alimentazione servendosi dell'apposito interruttore.

Applicare un segnale di ingresso all'MXS2800 a circa +4dBu (se si invia un segnale da

un mixer, guidare i misuratori

di uscita a circa 0 vu). Con il

segnale di ingresso presente,

alzare lentamente i comandi

di regolazione del livello del

canale fino a raggiungere il

livello audio desiderato.

Per ottenere il miglior

rapporto segnale-rumore,

l'MXS2800 deve essere

solitamente utilizzato con i

comandi di ingresso canale

impostati al massimo o quasi

(interamente girati in senso

orario) e i segmenti di PICCO si

accenderanno di tanto in tanto

(ma non frequentemente) durante i livelli massimi.

Comandi anteriori

1. Interruttore POWER (alimentazione) - Servirsi di questo interruttore per accendere o

spegnere l'amplificatore MXS2800

2. Comandi di livello canale - Due comandi per la regolazione fine del livello di uscita

di ciascun canale.

3. PEAK (picco) - L'indicatore di picco PEAK si illumina ogniqualvolta il canale emette

un segnale alla massima forza. Per ottenere il miglior rapporto segnale-rumore, il

segmento di destra (PEAK, picco) si deve illuminare solo di tanto in tanto durante

i livelli di picco; se si illumina frequentemente significa che si sta sovraccaricando

l'amplificatore ed è possibile che venga emesso un segnale distorto (“tagliato”).

4. Indicatori audio - Gli indicatori a LED presenti sul pannello anteriore monitorano in

maniera continua il livello di uscita di alimentazione del canale corrispondente. Per

ottenere il miglior rapporto segnale-rumore, impostare i controlli di livello in modo

che -6dB sia costantemente acceso, con escursioni occasionali, ma non fisse, nel

segmento rosso di picco (PEAK).

5. Spie ACTIVE (attivo) - Questi indicatori si illuminano quando l'interruttore di

alimentazione è acceso e l'apparecchio è pronto a far passare l'audio.

6. Spie PROTECT (protezione) - Questi indicatori a LED si accendono quando viene

individuato un guasto (cortocircuito, uscita CC, sovracorrente o surriscaldamento).

Si accendono inoltre alla prima accensione dell'amplificatore, fino a quando

l'amplificatore non è pronto a far passare l'audio e le spie ACTIVE non si accendono.

Pannello posteriore

1. Connettori di ingresso - Collegare il segnale in ingresso a questi jack XLR elettronica-

mente bilanciati o ai jack RCA non bilanciati.

2. Interruttore MODE - Per un utilizzo normale, collocare questo interruttore a tre vie su

STEREO . Quando in posizioneBRIDGE (ponte), il segnale che arriva al solo ingresso

Ch A è nuovamente convogliato a entrambi gli aplificatori (l'ingresso Ch B viene

ignorato), ma i due amplificatori sono collegati a ponte.

3. Ventola di scarico - Questa ventola a velocità variabile garantisce il raffreddamento

dell'amplificatore. Assicurarsi che il pannello anteriore e il pannello posteriore siano

liberi da ostruzioni e che siano sempre ventilati con aria fresca.

4. Connettori di uscita Speakon® - Servirsi di questi connettori per collegare ciascun

canale dell'amplificatore agli altoparlanti.

5. Ingresso CA - Collegare il cavo di sezione elevata “IEC” a 3 poli in dotazione

a questo livello.

Modalità Ponte (Bridge)

L'amplificatore MXS2800 presenta un

interruttore sul pannello posteriore che

consente di utilizzarlo in modalità stereo o

ponte (bridge). Quando questo interruttore è

posizionato su STEREO, l'MXS2800 funziona

come un vero amplificatore stereo in cui i

due canali indipendenti dell'amplificatore

(Ch A e Ch B) possono ricevere diversi segnali

di ingresso e produrre segnali di uscita

indipendenti. Quando invece l'interruttore è

posizionato su BRIDGE, il segnale di ingresso

del Ch A è convogliato a entrambi gli

amplificatori collegati a ponte, producendo

un unico segnale di uscita.

Modalità Ponte (Bridge)

L'immagine a sinistra ne mostra il

funzionamento. In modalità Bridge, la

polarità (fase) del segnale di uscita del Ch

B è inversa rispetto a quella del segnale di

uscita del Ch A. Entrambi i canali quindi

elaborano lo stesso segnale di ingresso con il

carico dell'altoparlante collegato in modo tale

che l'alimentazione sia derivata da entrambi

i canali. L'oscillazione di tensione vista

dal carico è così raddoppiata e l'uscita di

alimentazione è moltiplicata per quattro.
