Thank you for purchasing the Expedition Escape battery-powered portable

sound system, featuring wireless Bluetooth connectivity, to stream audio from

your smart phone, tablet, or computer.

Lightweight and compact, the Expedition Escape weighs less than 10lbs mak-

ing it an excellent complement to any mobile speaker situation. The internal

battery provides fifteen hours of audio on a full charge. The Expedition Escape

can be plugged in to an outlet for continuous audio.

Whether you are looking for a sound system for use outdoors, in the classroom,

for karaoke, for presentations, or performing live music, the Expedition Escape

provides high quality, portable audio in a small self-powered package.

Quick Start

Using a microphone

•

Set the Expedition Escape's power switch to the OFF position, and fully turn

the volumes controls counterclockwise to 0.

•

If an outlet is available, connect the included power cord to the AC INPUT

of the speaker, and plug it in.

•

Connect a microphone using a ¹⁄4" cable to the MIC INPUT.

Switch on the Expedition Escape power.

While speaking into the microphone, slowly raise the channel MIC until you

have reached the desired level.

NOTE: If not using the MIC input, turn the volume control all the way down to keep

out any unwanted noise.

Pairing with a Bluetooth® device

•

Turn all MASTER VOLUME control all

down counterclockwise to 0.

•

With the Expedition Escape and your

Bluetooth device powered on; press the

PAIR button on the rear panel of the

Expedition Escape speaker to make the

speaker discoverable. The Bluetooth

indicator will slowly flash green.

•

In the settings of your Bluetooth

device, set it to “discover” available

devices.

•

From the Bluetooth device list, select

the "Samson Escape" device.

If your device asks for a passkey, enter digits 0000 (four zeros) and press

OK. Some devices may also ask you to accept the connection.

As the Expedition Escape is connecting to your device, the Bluetooth

indicator will quickly flash green.

The Expedition Escape speaker indicates that pairing is complete when the

indicator turns steady green. You can now stream audio from your device to

the Expedition Escape speakers.

•

With the volume control on your Bluetooth device turned up, play some

music, and slowly raise the Expedition Escape channel MASTER VOL control

until you have reached the desired level.

Charging the Battery

The Expedition Escape has an internal, rechargeable battery capable of 20

hours of continuous audio on a full charge. Even though the system may have

some charge when first taken out of the box, we recommend fully charging

your Expedition Escape before first using the system.

To charge the battery for the first time:

•

Set the power switch to the “OFF”

position.

•

Connect the Expedition Escape to an

AC power outlet using the included

power adapter.

•

Keep the system plugged in until

the Power Supply indicator turns

off, indicating the battery is fully

charged.

The Expedition Escape utilizes a sealed lead-acid gel cell battery. When not

in use, the battery will slowly self-discharge. If you are planning not to use

the Expedition Escape for a long period of time, it is advised to fully charge

the unit before storing. It is also important to charge the unit every six

months when not used. This will ensure a healthy battery and extend its life.

If the battery is left with a very low charge for an extended period of time, it

is possible to recharge the battery to working condition, but the charge time

can take over 24 hours.

If you find that the operation time of the Expedition Escape becomes

noticeably decreased, even after fully charging, the battery should be

replaced. Contact Samson customer service or your local distributor for a

replacement battery.

Speaker Placement

The Expedition Escape provides three

different placement options for your specific

situation.

For maximum sound coverage the Expedition

Escape can be used with a standard 1³⁄8”

speaker stand. The speaker should be raised

above the heads of the listening audience.

Take care when placing the speaker on a

stand, to ensure that it is on a level, steady

surface and will not tip over.

When using the speaker on the floor, or

when the speaker is below the listener, the

Expedition Escape features a monitor angle position to project the sound up,

towards the audience.

For smaller settings, the speaker can be placed vertically on a table or desk.

Take care when placing the Expedition Escape in direct sunlight for long

periods of time, as this may discolor or damage the unit.

Do not place the speaker on wet surfaces, as it can cause malfunction. If you

notice condensation on the unit, dry the speaker before using or storing.

Avoiding Feedback

Feedback is the annoying howling and squealing that can heard when the

microphone picks up sound from the speaker. The sound is then re-amplified

back through the speaker again, creating a feedback loop. Follow these steps to

minimize the likelihood of feedback:

• Avoid pointing the microphone directly at the speaker. In general it is

recommended that the microphone be positioned behind the speaker

enclosure. This uses the directional characteristics of the speaker and

microphone to your advantage.

• Keep the microphone as far from the speaker as possible. This will help

achieve isolation between the speaker and the microphone, and allow you

to increase the output of the Expedition Escape.

• Position the microphone as close to the sound source as possible. This

will enable the microphone to pick up more direct sound, and allow you to

reduce the microphone input gain control.

• Reduce the overall level of the speaker.

Prise en mains rapide

Utilisation d'un micro

•

Positionner l'interrupteur Marche/Arrêt de l'Expedition Escape sur OFF

(ARRET), puis tourner le réglage de volume en butée en sens inverse horaire

sur 0.

•

Si une prise de secteur est disponible, brancher le câble d'alimentation ci-joint

sur la prise AC INPUT (Entrée Secteur) de l'enceinte, puis le brancher sur

secteur.

•

Raccorder un micro à l'aide d'un câble ⁄ " sur la prise MIC INPUT (Entrée MIC).

Mettre l'interrupteur Marche/Arrêt de l'Expedition Escape sur MARCHE.

Tout en parlant dans le micro, montez lentement la voie MIC jusqu'à ce que

vous parveniez au niveau désiré.

Pour recharger la batterie

L'Expedition Escape est équipée d'une batterie rechargeable interne pouvant

assurer une autonomie de 20 heures de son continu à pleine charge. Même

si le système peut être un peu chargé à sa sortie de la boîte, nous vous

conseillons de recharger à fond votre Expedition Escape avant de vous en

servir pour la première fois.

Pour la première recharge de la batterie :

•

Mettre l'interrupteur Marche/Arrêt

sur "OFF" (Arrêt).

•

Brancher l'Expedition Escape sur

une prise en utilisant l'adaptateur

secteur ci-joint.

•

Laisser le système branché jusqu'à

ce que le témoin d'Alimentation

s'éteigne, signalant que la batterie

est à pleine charge.

L'Expedition Escape fonctionne sur batterie sans entretien. Au repos, la

batterie se déchargera lentement. Si vous prévoyez de ne pas vous servir

de l'Expedition Escape pendant longtemps, il est conseillé de recharger à

fond l'appareil avant de le ranger. Il est également important de recharger

l'appareil tous les six mois même lorsqu'on ne s'en sert pas. Ceci maintiendra

la batterie en bon état de marche et en prolongera la durée de vie. Si on

laisse la batterie à très faible charge sur une longue durée, on pourra la

recharger jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit en état de marche, mais cela pourra durer

plus de 24 heures.

Si vous estimez que l'autonomie de l'Expedition Escape baisse sensiblement

même après l'avoir rechargée à fond, il faudra remplacer la batterie.

Positionnement de l'enceinte

L'Expedition Escape offre trois options de

positionnement différentes pour s'adapter à

votre situation particulière.

Pour une couverture sonore maximale,

l'Expedition Escape peut être utilisée avec

une embase standard d'enceinte de 1³⁄8”.

Essayez autant que possible d’installer

l'enceinte pour qu’elle soit au-dessus de la

tête des auditeurs. En posant l'enceinte sur

une embase, veillez à ce qu'elle repose sur

un sol bien horizontal et solide et à ce qu'elle

ne se renverse pas.

Lorsque vous posez l'enceinte à même le sol

ou lorsque l'enceinte se trouve plus bas que

les auditeurs, recourez à la position d'angle

de surveillance de l'Expedition Escape qui permet de projeter le son vers le

haut, vers les auditeurs.

Dans un espace plus petit, l'enceinte peut être posée à la verticale sur une

table ou sur un bureau.

Faites bien attention en plaçant l'Expedition Escape sous la lumière solaire

directe pendant longtemps, car cela risque d'entraîner une décoloration ou une

détérioration de l'appareil.

Ne posez pas l'enceinte sur des sols mouillés, cela risquant de provoquer une

panne. Si vous remarquez de la condensation sur l'appareil, laissez sécher

l'enceinte avant de vous en servir ou de la ranger.

Éviter l'effet Larsen

Le Larsen est ce bruit strident et désagréable qui se produit lorsque le son de

l'enceinte est capté par le micro. Le son est alors réamplifié en repassant par

l'enceinte, créant une boucle d'asservissement. Suivez ces étapes pour réduire

la probabilité d'asservissement :

• Évitez d'orienter le micro en direction de l'enceinte. En général, il est

recommandé de placer le micro derrière l'enceinte Ceci permet d'exploiter

les caractéristiques directionnelles de l'enceinte et du micro à votre

avantage.

• Éloignez le micro le plus possible de l'enceinte pour qu'il y ait une isolation

entre l'enceinte et le micro, ce qui vous permettra d'augmenter la sortie de

l'Expedition Escape.

• Placez le micro le plus près possible de la source sonore pour que le micro

capte plus de sons directs, ce qui vous permettra de réduire le contrôle du

gain d'entrée du micro.

• Réduisez le niveau général de l'enceinte.

Kurze Betriebsanleitung

Verwendung eines Mikrofons

•

Schalten Sie den Hauptschalter des Expedition Escape auf die OFF Position

und drehen Sie die Lautstärke Steuerknöpfe gegen den Uhrzeigersinn auf 0.

•

Wenn eine Steckdose vorhanden ist, schließen Sie das mitgelieferte

Stromkabel an die AC INPUT Buchse des Lautsprechers an und den Stecker

in die Steckdose.

Verbinden Sie ein Mikrofon mit einem ⁄4" Kabel an den MIC INPUT

Anschluss.

•

Schalten Sie den Expedition Escape ein.

Erhöhen Sie langsam, während Sie in das Mikrofon sprechen, den MIC

Kanal, bis Sie die gewünschte Einstellung erreicht haben.

ANMERKUNG: Wenn Sie nicht den MIC Eingang benutzen, drehen Sie den LEVEL

Laden der Batterie

Das Expedition Escape System ist mit einer internen wiederaufladbaren

Batterie ausgestattet, die, wenn sie vollkommen aufgeladen ist, bis zu 20

Stunden Musik wiedergeben kann. Obwohl die Batterie des Geräts bei der

Lieferung eine gewisse Ladung haben kann, empfehlen wir jedoch, die

Vermeiden von Rückkopplungen

Uso de un micrófono

•

Coloque el interruptor de alimentación del Expedition Escape en la posición

de OFF y gire totalmente los controles de volumen en el sentido contrario a las

agujas del reloj hasta la posición 0.

•

Si dispone de una toma eléctrica, conecte el cable de alimentación

suministrado con la unidad en la ENTRADA DE CA del altavoz y enchúfelo en

una toma de CA.

Conecte un micrófono utilizando un cable de ⁄4" en la ENTRADA MIC.

Encienda el Expedition Escape.

•

Mientras habla al micrófono, suba lentamente el nivel de MIC de canal hasta

que se alcance el nivel que desee.

NOTA: Si no utiliza la entrada MIC, gire el control de volumen para reducir el volumen

por completo con el fin de evitar el ruido no deseado.

Emparejamiento con un Dispositivo Bluetooth

•

Gire todos los controles VOLUMEN

MAESTRO en el sentido contrario a las

agujas del reloj hasta situarlos en 0.

Carga de la Batería

El Expedition Escape tiene una batería recargable interna capaz de

proporcionar 20 horas de audio continuo cuando está totalmente cargada.

A pesar de que la batería podría tener algo de carga cuando se retira el

Expedition Escape de la caja por primera vez, le recomendamos que la

cargue totalmente antes de utilizar el sistema.

Para cargar la batería por primera vez

debe hacerse lo siguiente:

•

Coloque el interruptor de

alimentación en la posición de

“OFF”.

•

Conecte el Expedition Escape a

una toma de alimentación de CA

utilizando el cable de alimentación

suministrado con la unidad.

Mantenga el sistema enchufado

hasta que el indicador de

Alimentación se apague, indicando

que la batería está totalmente

cargada.

El Expedition Escape utiliza una batería de celda de gel de plomo-ácido

sellada. Cuando no se utiliza, la batería se descarga lentamente por

sí sola. Si no va a utilizar el Expedition Escape durante un período de

tiempo prolongado, le recomendamos cargar totalmente la unidad antes

de almacenarla. También es importante cargar la unidad cada seis meses

cuando no se utilice. De esta manera se asegura el buen estado de la batería

y se prolonga su vida útil. Si se deja la batería con muy poca carga durante

un período de tiempo prolongado, es posible volverla a cargar correctamente,

aunque se podría tardar más de 24 horas.

Si observa que el tiempo de funcionamiento del Expedition Escape se

reduce visiblemente, incluso después de la carga completa de la batería,

es necesario reemplazar la batería. Póngase en contacto con el servicio de

atención al cliente de Samson o con su distribuidor local para solicitar una

batería de reemplazo.

Colocación de los Altavoces

El Expedition Escape ofrece tres opciones

de colocación diferentes para su situación

específica.

Para una cobertura máxima del sonido, el

Expedition Escape puede utilizarse con un

soporte de altavoz de 1 ⁄8” estándar. Siempre

que sea posible, es aconsejable colocar los

altavoces por encima de las cabezas de la

audiencia. Cuando coloque el altavoz en un

soporte, asegúrese de que el soporte esté

apoyado sobre una superficie estable y nivelada

con el fin de evitar su caída.

Cuando utilice el altavoz sobre el suelo,

o cuando el altavoz esté más bajo que la

audiencia, el Expedition Escape ofrece la

posibilidad de colocarlo con un cierto ángulo con el fin de dirigir el sonido hacia

arriba, es decir, hacia la audiencia.

Cuando se utilice en espacios pequeños, el altavoz puede colocarse verticalmente

sobre una mesa.

Tenga cuidado al colocar el Expedition Escape expuesto a la luz solar directa durante

períodos prolongados de tiempo, ya que la unidad podría decolorarse o sufrir daños.

No coloque el altavoz sobre superficies húmedas, ya que el funcionamiento de la

unidad podría ser incorrecto. Si observa condensación en la unidad, seque bien el

altavoz antes de utilizarlo o de almacenarlo.

Evitar la Realimentación

La realimentación es el molesto zumbido y ruido agudos que se oyen cuando

el micrófono está demasiado cerca de un altavoz y recoge el sonido del mismo.

Entonces el sonido se re-amplifica de nuevo a través del altavoz, creándose un bucle

de realimentación Siga los pasos que se indican a continuación para reducir al

máximo las probabilidades de que se produzca realimentación:

•

Evite orientar el micrófono directamente hacia el altavoz. En general, se

recomienda colocar el micrófono detrás del recinto del altavoz. Esta posición

aprovecha las características direccionales del altavoz y el micrófono de la

manera más favorable.

•

Mantenga el micrófono lo más alejado posible del altavoz. Así se contribuirá a

crear aislamiento entre el altavoz y el micrófono, permitiéndole incrementar la

salida del Expedition Escape.

Coloque el micrófono lo más cerca posible de la fuente de sonido. De esta

manera el micrófono recogerá más sonido directo, lo que le permitirá reducir el

control de ganancia de entrada del micrófono.

•

Reduzca el nivel global del altavoz.

9. Non ignorare lo scopo di sicurezza

della spina polarizzata o con messa

a terra. Una spina polarizzata ha due

lame, una più ampia dell'altra. Una

spina con messa a terra ha due lame

e un terzo connettore di messa a terra.

La lama larga, o il terzo polo, è inseri-

ta/o per la sicurezza dell’utente. Se la

spina in dotazione non è adatta per la

propria presa, consultare un elettrici-

sta per sostituire la presa obsoleta.

Vi ringraziamo per aver acquistato degli altoparlanti portatili alimentati a batte-

ria Expedition Escape, dotati di connettività wireless Bluetooth per ricevere in

streaming audio da smartphone, tablet o computer.

Leggeri e compatti gli altoparlanti Expedition Escape pesano meno di 10 lb

(4,54 kg) e ciò li rende un ottimo complemento in qualsiasi situazione in cui

siano necessari altoparlanti mobili. La batteria interna, quando è completamen-

te carica, assicura fino a quindici ore di diffusione audio. Per una diffusione

audio ininterrotta è possibile collegare gli altoparlanti Expedition Escape a una

presa di corrente.

Operazioni preliminari

Uso di un microfono

•

Posizionare l'interruttore di accensione dell'Expedition Escape sulla

posizione OFF e ruotare completamente tutti i dispositivi di regolazione del

volume in senso antiorario su 0.

•

Se è disponibile una presa, collegare il cavo di alimentazione in dotazione

all'INGRESSO CA (AC INPUT) dell'altoparlante e inserirne la spina.

•

Collegare un microfono all'INGRESSO MIC (MIC INPUT) con un cavo da ⁄

4".

Accendere l'altoparlante Expedition Escape.

Parlando al microfono alzare lentamente il canale MIC fino a raggiungere il

livello desiderato.

NOTA: se non si sta utilizzando l'ingresso MIC, ruotare completamente verso il basso

il dispositivo di regolazione del volume in modo da escludere qualsiasi rumore

indesiderato.

Accoppiamento con un apparecchio Bluetooth

•

Ruotare tutti i comandi VOLUME

MASTER verso il basso in senso

antiorario portandoli sullo 0.

•

Con l'altoparlante Expedition Escape e il

dispositivo Bluetooth accesi premere

il pulsante PAIR (ACCOPPIAMENTO)

sul pannello posteriore dell'altoparlante

Expedition Escape per rendere

l'altoparlante scopribile. La spia

Bluetooth assumerà colore verde e

lampeggerà lentamente.

•

Nelle impostazioni del dispositivo

Bluetooth configurarlo in modo che

"scopra" i dispositivi disponibili.

Dall'elenco di dispositivi Bluetooth

selezionare il dispositivo "Samson Escape".

Se il dispositivo richiede una passkey, inserire le cifre 0000 (quattro zeri)

e premere OK. Alcuni dispositivi potrebbero anche chiedere all'utente di

accettare il collegamento.

Mentre l'Expedition Escape si collega al dispositivo, la spia Bluetooth

assumerà colore verde e lampeggerà velocemente.

L'altoparlante Expedition Escape indica che l'accoppiamento è terminato

quando la spia verde diviene fissa. A questo punto è possibile ascoltare

in streaming audio trasmesso dal dispositivo attraverso gli altoparlanti

Expedition Escape.

•

Dopo aver aumentato il volume sul dispositivo Bluetooth , riprodurre

della musica e alzare lentamente il comando VOL MASTER del canale

dell'Expedition Escape fino a raggiungere il livello desiderato.

Caricamento della batteria

Gli altoparlanti Expedition Escape sono dotati di una batteria interna

ricaricabile in grado, se completamente carica, di assicurare fino a venti

ore di riproduzione audio ininterrotta. Anche se il sistema potrebbe essere

parzialmente carico quando viene estratto dalla sua confezione per la prima

volta, consigliamo di caricare completamente l'Expedition Escape prima del

primo utilizzo.

Per caricare la batteria la prima volta:

•

Posizionare l'interruttore di

accensione sulla posizione “OFF”.

•

Collegare l'Expedition Escape a

una presa di corrente a c.a. con

l'adattatore di corrente fornito.

•

Mantenere il sistema collegato

alla presa fino a che la spia

sull'alimentatore si spegne indicando

che la batteria è completamente

carica.

L'Expedition Escape utilizza batterie a celle piombo-acido gel. Quando non

viene utilizzata, la batteria si scaricherà lentamente. Se si pensa di non

utilizzare l'Expedition Escape per un lungo periodo di tempo, si consiglia

di caricare completamente l'unità prima di riporla. Inoltre è importante

caricare l'unità ogni sei mesi quando non viene usata. Ciò garantirà batterie

in buone condizioni che dureranno a lungo. Se si lascia una batteria con una

carica molto bassa per un esteso periodo di tempo, è possibile ricaricarla

per ripristinare le condizioni di funzionamento, ma il tempo di caricamento

potrebbe superare le ventiquattro ore.

Se si riscontra che il tempo di funzionamento dell'altoparlante Expedition

Escape diminuisce sensibilmente anche dopo una carica completa della

batteria, bisognerà sostituirla. Contattare il servizio assistenza ai clienti

Samson o il proprio distributore di fiducia per ottenere delle batterie di

ricambio.

Posizionamento dell'altoparlante

Gli altoparlanti Expedition Escape possono

essere collocati in tre posizioni diverse in modo

da adattarsi a situazioni specifiche.

Per ottenere il massimo della copertura

sonora gli altoparlanti Expedition Escape

possono essere utilizzati con un supporto

standard per altoparlanti da 1 ⁄8" (412,75

mm). L'altoparlante dovrebbe essere in

posizione elevata, al di sopra delle teste degli

ascoltatori. Fare attenzione quando si posiziona

l'altoparlante su un supporto, in modo da essere

certi che si trovi su una superficie stabile e in

piano e che non si ribalti.

Quando si appoggia l'altoparlante sul pavimento,

o quando esso si trova al di sotto del livello in

cui sono gli ascoltatori, il modello Expedition Escape consente di dare al monitor

un'angolazione tale da proiettare il suono verso l'alto, in direzione del pubblico.

In ambienti più piccoli è possibile posizionare l'altoparlante verticalmente su un

tavolo o una scrivania.

Fare attenzione quando si posiziona un altoparlante Expedition Escape esposto alla

luce diretta del sole per lunghi periodi di tempo, in quanto essa potrebbe scolorire o

danneggiare l'unità.

Non posizionare l'altoparlante su superfici bagnate in quanto ciò potrebbe causarne

il malfunzionamento. Se si nota la presenza di condensa sull'unità, asciugare

l'altoparlante prima di usarlo o riporlo.

Evitare il feedback acustico

Il feedback acustico sono quei fastidiosi fischi e stridii che possono essere

uditi quando il microfono capta dei suoni dall'altoparlante. Il suono viene poi

riamplificato nuovamente attraverso l'altoparlante, creando un circuito con

retroazione. Eseguire queste operazioni per ridurre al minimo la probabilità del

verificarsi di feedback acustico:

• Evitare di puntare il microfono direttamente verso l'altoparlante. In generale

si consiglia che il microfono sia posizionato dietro la cassa dell'altoparlante.

Questo espediente sfrutta a vantaggio dell'utente le caratteristiche direzionali

dell'altoparlante e del microfono.

• Mantenere il microfono il più lontano possibile dall'altoparlante. Ciò contribuirà

a creare isolamento tra altoparlante e microfono e consentirà all'utente di

potenziare l'uscita dall'Expedition Escape.

• Posizionare il microfono il più vicino possibile alla sorgente sonora. Ciò

consentirà al microfono di captare un maggior numero di suoni diretti e

all'utente di ridurre il guadagno in ingresso del microfono.

• Ridurre il livello complessivo del volume dell'altoparlante.
