GETTING STARTED
Your SpectraLink 8002 Wireless Telephone uses radio wave technology to
send and receive voice and data transmissions. It is designed to operate
much like a cell phone. However, the handset uses the private
communication system installed in your facility and will not operate
outside the area covered by this system.
The handset’s Battery Pack must be fully charged before
its first use. Place the handset into the Charger for a
minimum of two hours before using it for the first time.
Basic Operation
If you want to Then
Turn the handset on
Press and hold the START key until two chirps
sound.
Turn the handset off
Press and hold the END key. One chirp will
sound. If you are in a call, hang up first, then
turn off the handset.
Unlock the keypad
Lock the keypad
Press the Unlk softkey, then #.
While in standby mode press FCN, then
Select.
Place a call
Press the START key and wait for a dial tone.
Dial the numbers and listen for the ring to
indicate the alerting of the called party.
Note: Line 1 is the default line

If you want to Then
Answer a call
When the handset rings, the line’s icon will flash
and row 2 will display the line number and your
dial number. Row 4 will display Fr (From) and the
caller ID of the incoming call.
Press START or the Answ softkey to answer
the call.

Press Rej to reject the call and allow it to be
redirected elsewhere, usually to voicemail.
When the call is answered an asterisk (*)
displays at the start of row 4 which indicates
that this line is in an active call with
established audio connection. The softkeys for
Hold and Mute appear.
Place a call on hold
Mute/Unmute a call
Press the Hold softkey. When a call is placed
on hold, an equal character (=) replaces the
asterisk (*) and the Rsme softkey displays.
Press the Mute softkey. When the handset is
muted, an x character replaces the asterisk (*).
Press the Mute softkey again to restore audio
pickup.
Silence the ring
Press END to silence the loud ring and convert
to in-ear ringing.
Loud ringing will resume when the next
incoming call is received while the handset is
in standby mode.
Adjust the headset
volume
While the headset is plugged in, press the up/
down volume buttons on the side of the
handset during the call.
End the call
Press the END key to return to the standby
mode.

If you want to Then
Turn on the backlight
The backlight comes on when any key is
pressed or when there is an incoming call, and
stays on for 10 seconds. It turns off if another
key is not pressed within that period.

Open the option
menu
The option menu is used to set phone options
such as language, ring tone and keypad
autolock. Press the FCN key while on hook to
open the option menu. Use the up/down/
select buttons on the side of the handset to
scroll through and select options.
Change ring options
Use Ring Options to adjust ring tones, ring
cadence and set vibrate options.
Change phone
options
Use Phone Options to adjust noise mode for
background noise, key tones, warning tones,
display contrast and keypad autolock.

Status/Tone Indicators
No service message
An alarm may sound and a descriptive
message displays when the handset cannot
receive or place calls. You may be outside of
the covered area. Walk back into the covered
area. The in-service tone indicates service is
re-established.
The signal strength icon indicates the strength
of the signal and can assist the user in
determining if the handset is moving out of
range.
The battery icon indicates the amount of
charge remaining in the Battery Pack. When
the empty battery displays, a beep may sound
to indicate the Battery Pack charge is low. You
have two minutes to change the Battery Pack
before losing power.
The voicemail icon indicates that you have a
new voicemail message.
The download icon displays when the handset
is receiving software over the air.

Chargers
Your SpectraLink 8002 Wireless Telephone is packaged with one of two
Charger models. The Desktop Charger will charge a single handset with an
installed Battery Pack. The Dual Charger will charge the handset and a
spare Battery Pack.
Place the Charger on a flat, horizontal surface. Plug the power supply into
the Charger and into an appropriate wall outlet. The user must end any call
in progress by pressing the End Call key on the handset before placing it into
the Charger. Handsets may be charged while on hook or while turned off.
While the handset is charging while on hook, it will display its extension
number and Charging… as well as an animated battery icon in the
display’s upper right corner. The handset is fully operational and will ring if
called. When the handset is charging while turned off, only Charging…
and the animated battery icon will display and no calls will be received.
Note that during the handset charging cycle, the Charging… dots will be
racing. When the handset is fully charged, Charge Complete will display.
Desktop Charger
The Desktop Charger will charge a single handset with an installed Battery
Pack. Place the handset in the Desktop Charger facing forward. When the

handset is placed correctly, the red indicator light will come on. The
indicator light will not come on when the slot is empty, when the handset
is improperly seated, or when the Desktop Charger has no power applied.
The indicator light will remain on until the handset is removed.
Dual Charger
The Dual Charger is designed to charge the Battery Pack in the handset and
also charge an additional Battery Pack in the rear charging bay. The
handset has charging priority when both slots are occupied. Place the
handset in the front slot, facing forward. The Battery Pack alone snaps into
the rear charging bay. The LED indicates the status of the Battery Pack in
the rear bay. When the handset is fully charged or is removed, the Battery
Pack will begin charging. Note that the time it takes for the Battery Pack to
charge will be lengthened if its charging cycle is interrupted by the
placement of a handset in the front slot.

SAFETY INFORMATION
Chargers and Battery Packs
It is normal for the Battery Pack to become warm when charging.
Chargers operate in a 50° to 85° F (10° to 30° C) environment. Do not expose them to
freezing temperatures or direct sunlight.
Do not place anything in the charger other than the handset or single Battery Pack as
appropriate, to avoid bending the contacts. Bent contacts can keep the Battery Pack
from charging.
Only use Polycom Battery Packs with Polycom chargers.
Never use a non-Polycom charging unit as it could damage the Battery Pack.
Only use the original plug-in power adapter for the chargers.
Contact your service representative for assistance if you have a faulty Battery Pack or
a problem with your charger.
Do not immerse the Battery Pack in water or throw into
fire.
Do not throw away the Battery Pack with your domestic
waste. Take used Battery Packs to an appropriate
collection point for recycling or send them back to your
supplier or servicing agent.

All batteries can cause property damage and/or bodily
injury, such as burns, if a conductive material such as

jewelry, keys, or beaded chains touches exposed
terminals. The conductive material may complete an
electrical circuit (short circuit) and become quite hot.
Exercise care in handling any charged battery, particularly
when placing it inside a pocket, purse, or other container
with metal objects.

Operational Warnings
Potentially Explosive Atmospheres
Turn off your handset prior to entering any area with a potentially explosive
atmosphere. Do not remove, install, or charge batteries in such areas. Sparks in a
potentially explosive atmosphere can cause an explosion or fire resulting in bodily
injury or even death.
Areas with potentially explosive atmospheres include
fueling areas such as below decks on boats, fuel or

chemical transfer or storage facilities, areas where the air
contains chemicals or particles such as grain, dust, or
metal powders, and any other area where you would
normally be advised to turn off your vehicle engine. Areas
with potentially explosive atmospheres are often posted,
but not always.

Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility
Nearly every electronic device is susceptible to
electromagnetic interference (EMI) if inadequately
shielded, designed, or otherwise configured for
electromagnetic compatibility.
Facilities
To avoid electromagnetic interference and/or compatibility conflicts, turn off your
handset in any facility where posted notices instruct you to do so. Hospitals or health
care facilities may be using equipment that is sensitive to external RF energy.
Pacemakers
The Health Industry Manufacturers Association recommends that a minimum
separation of 6 inches (15 cm) be maintained between a handheld, wireless-radio
product and a pacemaker. These recommendations are consistent with the
independent research by, and recommendations of, Wireless Technology Research.
Persons with pacemakers should:

ALWAYS keep the handset more than 6 inches (15 cm) from their pacemaker
when the handset is turned on.
•
•
Not carry the handset in a breast pocket.
Use the ear opposite the pacemaker to minimize the potential for
interference.
•
Turn the handset off immediately if you have any reason to suspect that
interference is taking place.
Hearing Aids
Some wireless handsets may interfere with some hearing aids. In the event of such
interference, you may want to consult your hearing-aid manufacturer to discuss
alternatives.
Other Medical Devices
If you use any other personal medical device, consult the manufacturer of your device
to determine if it is adequately shielded from external RF energy. Your physician may
be able to assist you in obtaining this information.

Use While Driving
Campus installations and warehouse facilities that use vehicles such as forklifts or
golf carts should abide by these guidelines when using wireless telephones:

Give full attention to driving and to the road, aisle, or path.
Use hands-free operation, if available.
Pull off the road, aisle, or path and park before making or answering a call.
For Vehicles Equipped with an Airbag
Do not place a portable device in the area over the airbag or in the airbag deployment
area. An airbag inflates with great force. If a handset is placed in the airbag
deployment area and the airbag inflates, the handset may be propelled at high speed
and cause serious injury to occupants of the vehicle.

CARE OF YOUR HANDSET

Avoid dropping the handset or knocking it against hard surfaces. Carrying the
handset in a holster or carrying case will help protect it.
•

There are no serviceable parts in the handset or chargers. You should not open
the handset case or disassemble the chargers. Doing so will void your warranty.
Turn off the handset and unplug chargers before you clean them. Take care not
to exert undue pressure on charger electrical contacts while wiping.
Wiping the handset surface with a water-dampened cloth or paper towel will
remove most films or residues. If the soiling is too stubborn for plain water, a
mild detergent solution may be used. Do not spray. Do not allow liquid cleaners
to seep into keypad. Be sure to wipe away any detergent residue with a clean
water-dampened cloth. Do not immerse.
•
Should the headset connector become dirty, you may experience a scratchy or
intermittent signal. To clean the connector, dip the non- padded end of a wooden
or paper cotton swab stick in isopropyl alcohol. Gently insert in the connector
and twist, repeating several times. If available, blow compressed air into the
connector to clear debris.
•
•
Keep the headset jack covered when it is not in-use.
Using a carrying case may help protect the surfaces and help prevent liquids
(e.g., rain) from entering into the interior of the handset.
•
If your handset interior gets wet, do not try to accelerate drying with the use of
an oven, a microwave oven or a dryer as this will damage the handset and void
the warranty. Instead, do the following:
1. Immediately power off the handset.
2. Remove the Battery Pack from handset.
3. Shake excess liquid from the handset.
4. Place the handset and Battery Pack in an upright position in an area that is
at room temperature and has good airflow.
5. Let the handset and Battery Pack dry for 72 hours before reconnecting the
Battery Pack and/or powering on the handset.
If the handset does not work after following the steps listed above, contact your
phone system administrator for servicing information.

Message d’absence
de réseau
Une alarme peut retentir et un message
s’afficher lorsque le combiné ne peut ni recevoir
ni passer d’appel. Il est possible que vous soyez
hors de la zone de couverture du réseau.
Retournez dans la zone de couverture.
La tonalité en service indique que le service
est rétabli.
Une icône indique la force du signal et permet
à l’utilisateur de déterminer si le combiné sort
de la zone de couverture.
L’icône de batterie indique le niveau de
charge de la batterie. Lorsqu’une batterie vide
s’affiche, un bip peut retentir pour indiquer
le faible niveau de charge de la batterie.
Vous avez deux minutes pour changer la
batterie avant que le téléphone s’éteigne.
Cette icône indique que votre boîte vocale
contient un nouveau message.
L’icône de téléchargement s’affiche lorsque
le combiné reçoit des données logicielles par
communication sans fil.
Chargeurs
Votre téléphone sans fil SpectraLink 8002 est livré avec l’un des deux
modèles de chargeurs disponibles. Le chargeur de bureau est conçu pour
recharger un combiné contenant une batterie. Le chargeur double charge la
batterie du combiné et une batterie de rechange.

Placez le chargeur sur une surface horizontale plane. Reliez le câble
d’alimentation au chargeur et à une prise murale adéquate. L’utilisateur
doit interrompre toute communication en cours en appuyant sur la touche
End Call du combiné avant de le placer dans le chargeur. Les combinés
peuvent se recharger raccrochés ou hors tension.
Si le combiné se recharge et qu’il est raccroché, il affiche son numéro
d’extension et le message Charging…, ainsi qu’une icône de batterie
animée dans le coin supérieur droit de l’écran. Le combiné est opérationnel
et sonne en cas d’appel. Si vous chargez le combiné alors qu’il est éteint,
seuls le message Charging… et l’icône de batterie animée s’affichent.
Vous ne pouvez recevoir aucun appel. Notez que pendant le chargement du
combiné, les points d’extension du message Charging… ne cessent
de clignoter. Une fois le combiné chargé, le message Charge Complete
s’affiche.
Chargeur de bureau
Le chargeur de bureau est conçu pour recharger un combiné équipé d’une
batterie. Placez le combiné dans le chargeur, face vers l’avant. Une fois le
combiné en place, le voyant rouge s’allume. Le voyant ne s’allume pas si le
chargeur est vide, si le combiné est mal placé dans le chargeur ou si le

chargeur n’est pas relié au secteur. Le voyant reste allumé jusqu’à ce que
vous retiriez le combiné du chargeur.
Chargeur double
Outre la batterie comprise dans le combiné, le chargeur double est
également conçu pour charger une batterie de rechange à l’arrière de son
socle de chargement. Le combiné conserve la priorité lorsque les deux
emplacements sont occupés. Placez le combiné dans l’emplacement avant,
face vers l’avant. La batterie de rechange est destinée à l’emplacement de
chargement arrière. Le voyant indique l’état de chargement de la batterie
dans l’emplacement arrière. Lorsque le combiné a terminé de charger ou
qu’il est retiré du chargeur, la batterie de rechange commence à charger.
Notez que l’insertion du combiné dans l’emplacement avant interrompt non
seulement le chargement de la batterie de rechange, mais augmente aussi
d’autant sa durée de chargement.

Ne plongez pas la batterie dans l’eau et ne la jetez pas
au feu.
Ne jetez pas la batterie avec vos ordures ménagères.
Déposez les batteries usagées à un point de recyclage
ou renvoyez-les à votre fournisseur ou agent de
maintenance.

MESURES DE PRÉCAUTION

Évitez de laisser tomber le combiné ou de le cogner contre des surfaces dures.
Transportez le combiné dans un étui ou un boîtier pour le protéger.
Ni le combiné, ni le chargeur ne contiennent des pièces réparables par
l’utilisateur. N’ouvrez pas le combiné et ne démontez pas le chargeur, sous
peine d’annuler votre garantie.
Avant de nettoyer le combiné et le chargeur, mettez le téléphone hors tension et
débranchez le chargeur. Veillez à ne pas exercer une pression excessive sur les
contacts électriques du chargeur pendant le nettoyage.
Pour éliminer la plupart des salissures ou résidus de la surface du combiné, il
suffit d’utiliser un chiffon ou une serviette en papier humide. Si l’eau seule ne
suffit pas à éliminer certaines tâches, vous pouvez utiliser un détergent doux.

INTRODUCCIÓN

radio para enviar y recibir transmisiones de voz y de datos. Está disenado
para funcionar de forma muy similar a un teléfono celular. No obstante,
este teléfono utiliza el sistema de comunicación privada instalado en el
lugar y no funciona fuera del área de cobertura de dicho sistema.
Antes de utilizar el teléfono por primera vez, se debe
cargar la batería por completo. Coloque el teléfono en el
cargador durante dos horas como mínimo antes de
utilizarlo por primera vez.
Funcionamiento básico

No hay mensajes
para el servicio
Puede sonar una alarma y se mostrará un
mensaje descriptivo cuando el teléfono no
puede recibir ni hacer llamadas. Tal vez se
encuentre fuera del área de cobertura. Camine
de regreso hacia el área de cobertura. El tono
de servicio indica que se ha restablecido el
servicio.
El icono de fuerza de la senal indica la fuerza
de la senal y puede ayudar al usuario a
determinar si el teléfono se está moviendo
fuera del área de alcance.
El icono de batería indica la cantidad de carga
que queda en la batería. Cuando se muestra
una batería vacía, puede sonar un pitido para

Cuando el teléfono se está cargando mientras está colgado, muestra su
número de extensión y Charging… así como también un icono de batería

carga cuando está apagado, sólo se mostrará la leyenda Charging…

El cargador de mesa carga un solo teléfono con una batería instalada.

Meldung "Kein Wenn mit dem Handgerät keine Anrufe
Service"
entgegengenommen oder getätigt werden können,
ertönt u. U. ein akustisches Warnsignal, und eine
Meldung wird angezeigt. Möglicherweise befinden
Sie sich außerhalb des Empfangsbereichs. Begeben
Sie sich zurück in den Empfangsbereich. Der
Betriebston zeigt an, dass das Telefon wieder
funktionsfähig ist.
Am Signalstärkensymbol ist die Stärke des
Signals zu erkennen. Anhand dieses Symbols kann
der Benutzer leichter bestimmen, ob sich das
Handgerät aus dem Empfangsbereich entfernt.
Am Akkusymbol ist der noch verbleibende
Akkuladestand zu erkennen. Bei sehr niedrigem
Akkuladestand wird das Akkusymbol leer angezeigt
und u. U. ein Piepton ausgegeben. Sie haben zwei
Minuten Zeit, den Akku auszutauschen, bevor der
Akku ganz leer ist.
Das Voicemail-Symbol weist Sie darauf hin, dass
eine neue Voicemail-Nachricht für Sie vorliegt.
Das Download-Symbol wird angezeigt, wenn das
Handgerät Software empfängt.
Ladegeräte
Ihr SpectraLink 8002 Schnurlostelefon wird mit einem von zwei
Ladegerätemodellen geliefert. Mit dem Tischladegerät kann ein einzelnes
Handgerät mit einem installierten Akku aufgeladen werden. Mit dem
Doppelfunktionsladegerät kann ein Handgerät und ein separater Akku
aufgeladen werden.
Stellen Sie das Ladegerät auf eine flache, waagerechte Oberfläche.

Netzsteckdose an. Der Anwender muss alle laufenden Gespräche durch
Drücken der Taste End Call beenden, bevor das Handgerät in das
Ladegerät eingelegt wird. Handgeräte können aufgelegt oder
ausgeschaltet aufgeladen werden.
Ist das Handgerät beim Aufladen aufgelegt, zeigt es seine
Durchwahlnummer und die Meldung Charging… sowie ein animiertes
Akkusymbol in der rechten oberen Ecke des Displays an. Das Handgerät
ist voll funktionsfähig und läutet bei einem Anruf. Ist das Handgerät beim
Aufladen ausgeschaltet, wird nur die Meldung Charging… zusammen
mit dem animierten Akkusymbol angezeigt, es können jedoch keine Anrufe
empfangen werden. Es ist zu beachten, dass die Punkte in der Meldung
Charging… während des Ladevorgangs nacheinander abwechselnd ein-
und ausgeblendet werden. Wenn das Handgerät vollständig aufgeladen
ist, wird die Meldung Charge Complete angezeigt.
Tischladegerät
Mit dem Tischladegerät kann ein einzelnes Handgerät mit einem
installierten Akku aufgeladen werden. Setzen Sie das Handgerät mit der
Vorderseite nach vorne in das Tischladegerät ein. Wenn das Handgerät
korrekt eingesetzt wird, leuchtet die rote Kontrollanzeige auf. Die
Kontrollanzeige leuchtet nicht auf, wenn der Steckplatz leer ist, das

Handgerät nicht richtig eingesetzt ist oder wenn das Tischladegerät nicht
mit Strom versorgt wird. Die Anzeige leuchtet so lange, bis das Handgerät
entfernt wird.
Doppelfunktionsladegerät
Mit dem Doppelfunktionsladegerät kann der Akku im Handgerät sowie ein
zusätzlicher Akku in dem hinteren Steckplatz aufgeladen werden. Wenn
beide Steckplätze belegt sind, wird zuerst das Handgerät aufgeladen.
Setzen Sie das Handgerät mit der Vorderseite nach vorne in den vorderen
Steckplatz ein. Der einzelne Akku rastet in den hinteren Steckplatz ein.
Die LED zeigt den Status des Akkus in dem hinteren Steckplatz an.
Nachdem das Handgerät vollständig aufgeladen ist oder vom Ladegerät
abgenommen wurde, wird der Einzelakku aufgeladen. Beachten Sie
bitte, dass sich die Ladezeit des Akkus verlängert, wenn der Ladevorgang
durch das Einsetzen eines Handgeräts in den vorderen Steckplatz
unterbrochen wird.

SICHERHEITSINFORMATIONEN
Ladegeräte und Akkus
Eine Erwärmung des Akkus während des Ladevorgangs ist völlig normal.
Die Betriebstemperatur von Ladegeräten liegt zwischen 10 und 30 °C. Setzen Sie die
Geräte weder Temperaturen um den Gefrierpunkt noch direkter Sonneneinstrahlung
aus.
Platzieren Sie keine anderen Gegenstände, sondern nur das Handgerät bzw. einen
einzelnen Akku in das Ladegerät, damit die Kontakte nicht verbogen werden. Wenn
die Kontakte verbogen sind, kann der Akku möglicherweise nicht mehr aufgeladen
werden.
Verwenden Sie mit Ladegeräten von Polycom nur Akkus von Polycom.
Verwenden Sie niemals Ladegeräte, die nicht von Polycom hergestellt wurden, da sie
zu Beschädigungen der Akkus führen können.
Verwenden Sie ausschließlich das Original-Netzteil für die Ladegeräte.
Wenden Sie sich bei einem schadhaften Akku oder einem Problem mit dem Ladegerät
an den Kundendienst.
Tauchen Sie den Akku nicht ins Wasser, und werfen Sie
ihn nicht ins Feuer.

abstand von 15 cm einzuhalten. Diese Empfehlung stimmt mit unabhängigen
Forschungsergebnissen und den Empfehlungen von Wireless Technology Research
überein. Personen mit einem Schrittmacher sollten folgende Punkte beachten:

Telefonieren während des Fahrens
Bei Campus-Installationen und Lagereinrichtungen, bei denen Fahrzeuge wie

Befindet sich ein Handgerät im Inflationsbereich, während der Airbag aufgeht,
kann es mit hoher Geschwindigkeit geschleudert werden und bei Fahrzeuginsassen
schwere Verletzungen verursachen.

PFLEGE DES HANDGERÄTS

Lassen Sie das Handgerät nach Möglichkeit nicht fallen oder gegen harte Oberflächen
prallen. Wenn das Handgerät in einem Halter oder einer Tasche getragen wird, ist es
besser geschützt.

Innerhalb des Handgeräts oder der Ladegeräte befinden sich keine vom Benutzer zu
wartenden Teile. Öffnen des Handgeräts und Auseinanderbauen des Ladegeräts
führen zum Erlöschen des Garantieanspruchs.
Vor dem Reinigen das Handgerät ausschalten und die Ladegeräte vom Stromnetz
trennen. Üben Sie beim Abwischen keinen übermäßigen Druck auf die elektrischen
Kontakte des Ladegeräts aus.
Die meisten Schmutzfilme und -ablagerungen lassen sich mit einem mit Wasser
angefeuchteten Tuch oder Papiertuch von der Oberfläche des Handgeräts abwischen.
Ist der Schmutz für reines Wasser zu hartnäckig, kann eine milde Reinigungslösung
verwendet werden. Das Gerät darf nicht besprüht werden. Es darf kein Flüssigreiniger
in das Tastenfeld eindringen. Achten Sie darauf, alle Reinigungsmittelrückstände mit
einem sauberen, mit Waser angefeuchteten Tuch abzuwischen. Das Gerät nicht in
Flüssigkeit eintauchen.

Ein schmutziger Handgeräteanschluss kann zu einem kratzigen oder unterbrochenen
Signal führen. Um den Anschluss zu reinigen, tauchen Sie das nicht wattierte Ende eines
Wattestäbchens aus Holz oder Papier in Isopropylalkohol. Führen Sie es behutsam in den
Anschluss ein und drehen Sie es. Wiederholen Sie diesen Vorgang mehrmals. Blasen Sie
ggf. Druckluft in den Anschluss, um Schmutzpartikel zu entfernen.

Bedecken Sie den Kopfhöreranschluss, wenn er nicht verwendet wird.
Durch eine Tragetasche werden die Oberflächen besser geschützt und Flüssigkeiten
(z. B. Regen) am Eindringen in das Innere des Handgeräts gehindert.
Sollte das Innere des Handgeräts nass werden, versuchen Sie nicht, es mithilfe eines
Ofens, eines Mikrowellenofens oder eines Trockners schneller zu trocken. Andernfalls
wird das Handgerät beschädigt und der Garantieanspruch erlöscht. Verfahren Sie
stattdessen wie folgt:

5. Lassen Sie das Handgerät und den Akku 72 Stunden lang trocknen, bevor Sie den

Sollte das Handgerät nach Befolgen des voranstehenden Verfahrens nicht
funktionieren, bitten Sie den Administrator des Telefonsystems um
Reparaturauskünfte.

receber ligações, pode soar um alarme e ser
exibida uma mensagem. Você pode estar fora
da área de cobertura. Volte para a área de
cobertura. O tom de serviço indica que o
serviço foi restabelecido.
O ícone de intensidade do sinal indica a
intensidade do sinal e pode auxiliar o usuário a
determinar se o telefone portátil está fora da
área de alcance.
O ícone de bateria indica a quantidade de
carga restante na bateria. Quando for exibida
uma bateria vazia, um sinal sonoro pode
indicar que a carga da bateria está baixa. Você
tem dois minutos para trocar a bateria antes
que a energia acabe.
O ícone de correio de voz indica que você tem
uma nova mensagem de correio de voz.
O ícone de download é exibido quando o
telefone portátil está recebendo um software
pelo ar.
Carregadores
O telefone sem fio SpectraLink 8002 vem com um dos dois modelos de
carregador. O carregador de mesa pode carregar apenas um telefone
portátil com uma bateria instalada. O carregador duplo pode carregar o
telefone portátil e uma bateria sobressalente.
Coloque o carregador em uma superfície horizontal plana. Ligue a fonte de
alimentação ao carregador e a uma tomada adequada. O usuário deve
encerrar qualquer chamada em andamento pressionando a tecla End Call
(Encerrar chamada) no telefone portátil antes de colocá-lo no carregador.

Carregador duplo
O carregador duplo foi projetado para carregar a bateria no aparelho
portátil e também para carregar uma bateria adicional no compartimento
posterior do carregador. O aparelho portátil tem prioridade de carga se os
dois compartimentos estiverem ocupados. Coloque o telefone portátil no
compartimento frontal, voltado para frente. A bateria sozinha encaixa no
compartimento posterior do carregador. O LED indica o status da bateria no
compartimento posterior. Quando o aparelho estiver completamente
carregado ou for removido, a carga da bateria é iniciada. Observe que o
tempo de carga da bateria se estenderá se seu ciclo de carga for

Evite derrubá-lo ou batê-lo contra superfícies maciças. Carregar o telefone
portátil em um suporte ou com uma capa ajuda a protegê-lo.
Há peças não reparáveis no telefone portátil ou carregadores. Não abra o
compartimento do telefone portátil ou desmonte os carregadores. Fazer isso
anulará sua garantia.
Desligue o telefone portátil e desconecte os carregadores antes de limpá-los.
Tenha o cuidado de não exercer pressão indevida sobre os contatos elétricos do
carregador durante a limpeza.

De draadloze telefoon uit de SpectraLink 8002-serie gebruikt radiogolven
voor het zenden en ontvangen van gesprekken en gegevens. Het apparaat
wordt op dezelfde wijze bediend als een mobiele telefoon. De handset
maakt echter gebruik van het vaste communicatiesysteem in uw woning/
kantoor en werkt niet buiten het dekkingsgebied van dit systeem.
De batterij van de handset moet voor het eerste gebruik
volledig worden opgeladen. Plaats de handset voor het
eerste gebruik minimaal 2 uur in de lader.

Status-/toonindicaties
Bericht 'niet actief'
Er klinkt mogelijk een alarm en er verschijnt
een bericht dat op de handset geen gesprekken
meer kunnen worden ontvangen of kan worden
gebeld. U hebt wellicht geen bereik meer. Loop
terug naar het dekkingsgebied. Via de
gebruikstoon ziet u wanneer de verbinding
weer tot stand is gebracht.
Het pictogram voor de signaalsterkte geeft de
sterkte van het signaal aan. Hieraan kan de
gebruiker ook zien of de handset buiten het
dekkingsbereik dreigt te komen.
Het batterijpictogram geeft aan hoeveel lading
er nog in de batterij zit. Als het pictogram van
de lege batterij wordt weergegeven, klinkt er
mogelijk een piepje om aan te geven dat de
batterijlading laag is. U hebt dan nog twee
minuten om de batterij vervangen voordat de
telefoon wordt uitgeschakeld.
Het voicemailpictogram geeft aan dat u een
nieuw voicemailbericht hebt ontvangen.
Het downloadpictogram wordt weergegeven
op het moment dat de handset draadloos
software ontvangt.
Opladers
De draadloze telefoon uit de SpectraLink 8002-serie wordt geleverd met
een van twee opladermodellen. Met de bureaulader kunt u een handset die
is voorzien van een batterij opladen. Met de dubbellader kunt u een
handset en een extra batterij opladen.

Plaats de lader op een vlak, horizontaal oppervlak. Sluit de voeding aan op
de lader en op een geschikte wandcontactdoos. Alvorens de handset in de
lader te plaatsen, dient de gebruiker alle gesprekken te beëindigen door te
drukken op de gesprekbeëindigingsknop. U kunt de handset opladen terwijl
deze is in- of uitgeschakeld.
Tijdens het laden van de ingeschakelde handset wordt het
toestelnummer en Charging… weergegeven, evenals een bewegend
batterijpictogram in de rechterbovenhoek van het display. De handset
blijft volledig operationeel en gaat over indien er wordt gebeld. Wanneer
een uitgeschakelde handset wordt opgeladen, wordt enkel Charging…
en een bewegend batterijpictogram weergegeven en kunnen geen
telefoongesprekken worden ontvangen. De puntjes achter Charging…
bewegen snel tijdens de laadcyclus. Wanneer de handset volledig is
opgeladen, wordt Charge Complete weergegeven.
Bureaulader
Met de bureaulader kunt u een handset die is voorzien van een batterij
opladen. Plaats de handset naar voren gericht in de bureaulader. Als de
handset goed is geplaatst, gaat het rode indicatielampje branden.
Het indicatielampje gaat niet branden als de laadopening leeg is, als de

handset niet juist is geplaatst of als de lader geen stroom krijgt. Het
indicatielampje blijft branden totdat u de handset uit de lader neemt.
Dubbellader
Met de dubbellader kunt u niet alleen de batterij in de handset opladen, maar
door middel van de extra oplaadopening aan de achterzijde ook een extra
batterij. Wanneer beide openingen zijn bezet, krijgt de handset voorrang bij
het opladen. Plaats de handset naar voren gericht in de opening aan de
voorzijde. De losse batterij wordt in de oplaadopening aan de achterzijde
geklikt. De LED geeft de status van de batterij in de opening aan de
achterzijde aan. Wanneer de handset volledig is opgeladen, begint het
opladen van De losse batterij. Denk eraan dat de oplaadtijd voor de batterij
wordt verlengd indien de oplaadcyclus wordt onderbroken doordat de
handset in de opening aan de voorzijde wordt geplaatst.

VEILIGHEIDSINFORMATIE
Laders en batterijen
De batterij kan tijdens het laden warm worden; dit is normaal.
De lader kan bij een temperatuur van 10 °C tot 30 °C worden gebruikt. Deze mag niet
worden blootgesteld aan vorst of direct zonlicht.
Plaats in de lader uitsluitend de handset of één batterij al naar gelang de behoefte,
zodat de contacten niet verbuigen. Verbogen contacten kunnen ertoe leiden dat de
batterij niet wordt opgeladen.
Gebruik voor de Polycom-lader uitsluitend batterijen van Polycom.
Laad de batterij niet op met een lader die niet van Polycom is. De batterij kan anders
beschadigd raken.
Gebruik alleen de originele voedingsadapter voor de laders.
Neem voor hulp contact op met uw service-vertegenwoordiger, als u een defecte
batterij of een probleem met de lader hebt.
Dompel de batterij nooit onder in water en gooi het pak
niet in het vuur.
Gooi de batterij niet met het huisvuil weg. Breng
gebruikte batterijen naar een verzamelpunt zodat ze voor
recycling kunnen worden gebruikt, of retourneer ze aan
uw leverancier of service-vertegenwoordiger.

Elke batterij kan eigendomsschade en/of lichamelijk
letsel veroorzaken, zoals brandwonden, als geleidende
materialen zoals sieraden, sleutels of kralenkettingen de
blootliggende aansluitpennen raken. Het geleidende
materiaal kan een gesloten elektrisch circuit

(kortsluiting) tot stand brengen en zo erg heet worden.
Wees voorzichtig bij het omgaan met een opgeladen
batterij, vooral wanneer u deze in uw zak, portemonnee
of een andere houder met metalen voorwerpen stopt.

Potentieel explosieve omgevingen zijn o.a. tankplaatsen

chemische overslag- of opslagplaatsen, ruimten waarin de
lucht chemicaliën of deeltjes zoals graan, stof of
metaalpoeder bevat en elke andere ruimte waar u
gewoonlijk wordt gevraagd om de motor van uw voertuig
af te zetten. Potentieel explosieve omgevingen worden
meestal aangegeven, maar niet altijd.

Elektromagnetische interferentie en compatibiliteit
Bijna alle elektronische apparaten hebben last van
elektromagnetische interferentie (EMI), indien deze niet
goed afgeschermd, ontworpen of op andere wijze
geconfigureerd zijn voor elektromagnetische
compatibiliteit.
Gebouwen
Ter voorkoming van elektromagnetische interferentie en/of compatibiliteitsconflicten
dient u de handset uit te zetten in gebouwen waarin wordt aangeven dit te doen. In
ziekenhuizen of zorginstellingen kan apparatuur worden gebruikt die gevoelig is voor
externe RF-energie.
Pacemakers
De Health Industry Manufacturers Association adviseert om een minimale afstand
van 15 cm aan te houden tussen handhelds, andere producten met draadloze
radiocommunicatie en pacemakers. Deze aanbevelingen komen overeen met het
onafhankelijke onderzoek door, en de aanbevelingen van,
Wireless Technology Research. Personen met pacemakers moeten:

de handset ALTIJD meer dan 15 cm verwijderd houden van de pacemaker
wanneer de handset wordt aangezet;

Hoorapparaten
Sommige draadloze handsets kunnen storing opleveren in bepaalde hoorapparaten.
Bij dergelijke storing dient u advies in te winnen bij de fabrikant van uw hoorapparaat
om alternatieve mogelijkheden te bespreken.
Andere medische apparaten
Indien u gebruik maakt van een ander persoonlijk medisch apparaat, raadpleeg dan de
fabrikant van dit apparaat om te bepalen of het voldoende is afgeschermd tegen
externe RF-energie. Uw arts kan u wellicht helpen deze informatie te verkrijgen.
Gebruik tijden het rijden
Terreinen en magazijnen waar voertuigen worden ingezet zoals golfwagentjes en
vorkheftrucks moeten deze richtlijnen in acht nemen bij gebruik van draadloze
telefoons:

Schenk alle aandacht aan het rijden en aan de weg, het gangpad of de baan.
Bedien het apparaat handsfree, indien mogelijk.
Parkeer aan de kant van de weg, het gangpad of de baan voordat u opneemt of
gaat bellen.
Voor voertuigen met airbag(s)
Plaats geen draagbare handset boven de airbag of in het activeringsgebied van de
airbag. Een airbag wordt met grote kracht opgeblazen. Als een handset in het
activeringsgebied van de airbag wordt geplaatst en de airbag wordt opgeblazen, kan
de handset met hoge snelheid worden weggeslingerd en ernstig letsel bij de
inzittenden veroorzaken.

VERZORGING VAN UW HANDSET
•
Laat de handset niet vallen of tegen een hard oppervlak slaan. Vervoer de handset
in een houder of draagtas zodat deze wordt beschermd.
•
•
•
De handset of laders bevatten geen onderdelen die de gebruiker zelf kan repareren.
Open de behuizing van de handset niet en demonteer de laders niet. Als u dit wel
doet, vervalt de garantie.
Zet de handset uit en haal de spanning van de laders voordat u deze gaat reinigen.
Oefen bij het schoonvegen niet te veel kracht uit op de elektrische contacten van
de lader.
De meeste aanslag en vuildeeltjes kunt u verwijderen wanneer u de handset met
een vochtige doek of keukenrol schoonveegt. Als de verontreiniging te hardnekkig
is voor schoon water, kunt u een zacht reinigingsmiddel gebruiken. Gebruik geen
spuitbussen. Laat geen vloeibaar reinigingsmiddel in het toetsenblok sijpelen. Zorg
ervoor dat al het achtergebleven reinigingsmiddel met een schone vochtige doek
wordt verwijderd. Niet onderdompelen.
•
Mocht de headset-aansluiting vuil worden, dan kunt u last krijgen van een
krassend of onderbroken signaal. Dompel voor het reinigen van de aansluiting het
ongewatteerde uiteinde van een houten of kartonnen wattenstaafje in isopropanol.
Steek het voorzichtig in de aansluiting, draai het rond en herhaal dit enkele malen.
Blaas perslucht in de aansluiting, indien beschikbaar, om het vuil te verwijderen.

Houd de headset-aansluiting afgedekt wanneer deze niet wordt gebruikt.
Een draagtas helpt bij de bescherming van het oppervlak en helpt te voorkomen dat
vloeistoffen (bijv. regen) in de handset terechtkomen.
•
Als de handset binnenin nat wordt, probeer deze dan niet versneld te drogen met
behulp van een oven, een magnetron of een föhn, aangezien hierdoor de handset
beschadigd raakt en de garantie komt te vervallen. Doe daarentegen het volgende:
1. Zet onmiddellijk de handset uit.
2. Haal de batterij uit de handset.
3. Schud overtollig vloeistof uit de handset.
4. Plaats de handset en de batterij rechtop op een goed geventileerde plek die op
kamertemperatuur is.
5. Laat de handset en de batterij 72 uur drogen voordat u de batterij opnieuw
aansluit en/of de handset aanzet.
Als de handset na het volgen van bovenstaande stappen niet werkt, neem
dan voor onderhoudsinformatie contact op met de beheerder van het
telefoonsysteem.
