Application Example
Pioneer has designed the DRM-1004V40 to read out data from DVD-ROM
discs at a speed of 3.5 MB/s, or 2.6 times the standard DVD-ROM rate. In
addition, this autochanger is capable of reading CD-ROM discs at a
sustained data transfer rate of 3 MB/s, which is a full 20 times the standard
CD-ROM rate.

Designed to ensure reliable operation in heavy-use environments, the DRM-
1004V40 has achieved an MSBF rating of 2.5 million disc swaps.
Furthermore, the drive is read compatible with all current DVD-ROM and
CD-ROM discs.

Using the DRM-1004V40 as optical library for storage &
retrieval/archival in a network environment, data-whether created
in-house or obtained from an external source-can be accessed/
archived by network clients in transparent manner, combined with
the benefits of a centralized control.
The DRM-1004V40 incorporates a built-in non-volatile memory which
automatically inventories each magazine. The feature eliminates the risk of
inserting discs into an occupied slot,therefore preventing the risk of disc
damage.
