Marmitek X10 transmitter for 2 addresses with a built-in
appliance module.
Applications
• The MicroModule can be installed behind conventional wall
switches or into wall outlets because of the extreme small size of
the MicroModule (minimum built-in depth 40 mm, advised 50
mm). The MicroModule is also ideal for installation into light
fixtures, home appliances or for use in areas with limited space
such as lowered ceilings.
• Universal compatibility: No limitation in choosing brand, color or
type of any wall switches and outlets.
• The MicroModule can be used in combination with regular
switches or pulse switches. These will be automatically recognized
by the AWM2.
• Install two-way switches without adding additional wires in
between wall switches (the MicroModules transmit their status to
the other MicroModuls through the power line).
• Execute Macro’s and preferred scenarios of a conventional switch
(e.g. along with Marmitek ActiveHome).
Functions
• X10 Transmitter for 2 Marmitek X10 addresses and the commands
ON and OFF.
• Built-in appliance module (16A).
• Two way Marmitek X10 communication.
• Two wall switches can be connected with one AWM2. One serves
the internal appliance module and also gives the X10 command
through the power line. The second wall switch is used to transmit
a second X10 address using the commands ON/OFF.
• Every Marmitek X10 controller can be used to program the
Marmitek X10 address through the power line (e.g. a Marmitek
Remote Control or the CM11 Computer interface).
• One free programmable Marmitek X10 address A1 to P16 (base
address). The second address programs automatically and will
always be the next Marmitek X10 address following on the

programmed address (e.g. Address A3 is programmed, the next
address will be automatically programmed as A4).
• Input applicable for potential free switches (< +5V in regard to
neutral).
• Can respond to one or more group commands like ALL LIGHTS ON,
ALL UNITS OFF. These functions are disabled by default.
• The internal appliance module remembers its status after a main
voltage cut-off.

Description of the Marmitek MicroModule wires
Blue: Neutral (0) wire
Brown: Input 1, programmed base address + control of the
built-in appliance module
The built-in appliance module will switch from ON to OFF or vise
versa when the brown wire is connected with the blue wire. At the
same time the programmed address will transmit the new status of
the appliance module through the power line. Due to this Marmitek
X10 transmission you are able to switch other Marmitek X10 modules
(set to the same address). The new status will also be recognized by
other MicroModuls or e.g. the computer interface (activating
macro’s, status indication and more).
Red: Input 2, second address
When the red wire is connected to the blue wire, the programmed

"address +1" will be transmitted (e.g. when A3 is programmed as the
base address then the Marmitek X10 address A4 will be sent by using
input 2). If the status in the MicroModule was ON, an OFF command
will be transmitted. If the status in the MicroModule was OFF, an ON
command will be transmitted. Through this transmission, other
Marmitek X10 modules can be switched remotely over the power line
or Macro’s setup in the computer interface can be activated.
Mounting Instructions
WARNING! ALWAYS SWITCH OFF THE MAIN MASTER SWITCH BEFORE
INSTALLING THE MICROMODULE.
To install the MicroModule AWM2 the following wiring is required at
the module installation point.
1. Neutral

3. Load. This wire runs
directly to the load.
• Take the wall switch out of the wall outlet.
• Disconnect all wires from the switch.
• Pull an additional Neutral-wire in case this one is missing.

programmed.
Programming
WARNING: DO NOT FORGET TO TURN ON THE MAIN MASTER SWITCH
PRIOR TO PROGRAMMING.
Activate the setup mode.
The following steps have to be taken to start the setup procedure for
programming the MicroModule:
• Press the setup (prog.) button for at least 3 seconds (see figure 5).
The LED should stay on after releasing the setup button.
• Warning! The MicroModule will leave the setup mode if it doesn’t
receive any commands within 60 seconds.
Exit setup mode
• Press the setup button once shortly; The red LED will turn off now.
You can also wait for at least 60 seconds so that the MicroModule
will exit the setup mode automatically.

For programming the Marmitek X10 address and options you will be
able to use any Marmitek X10 controller or remote control. For the
following explanation we used a Marmitek 8-in-1 remote control to
program the preferred settings (When you use an RF remote control
like the Marmitek 8-in-1, then a TM13 Plug-in Transceiver is required
to convert the RF signals to the X10 commands on the power line).
Sample 1. Program the Marmitek X10 address E4:
• Setup your remote control (see manual 8-in-1) and the TM13
transceiver to house code E.
• Start with the MicroModule in setup mode.
• Press the Marmitek X10 button (marked with the symbol of a
house) of the 8-in-1 remote control and then press button 4.
• Press the "ON" button 2x (= channel+).
• The MicroModule responds by blinking the LED twice.
• The address E4 is programmed.
Sample 2. Program the function "All Units Off"
• Make sure you program the required Marmitek X10 address first!!
(e.g. E4).
• Leave the remote control and the TM13 Transceiver on HouseCode
E or set it to the right HouseCode.
• Start with the MicroModule in setup mode.
• Press button marked with "All Units Off" 2x (= mute).
• The MicroModule responds by blinking the LED 8x.
NOTES:
• When you program the MicroModule, always program the address
first the optional function second.
• If the MicroModule receives a new address during setup mode, the
optional functions will be automatically reset to the factory
defaults.

Usage of the MicroModules in a 3 phase installation.
The X10 transmitters of the MicroModules transmit the command
only once for use in the phase of which they are connected. When
you want to receive the commands on your other phases as well, you
will need to install the CAT3000 phase coupler/repeater.

Marmitek X-10 Sender für zwei Adressen mit eingebautem
Gerätemodul
Anwendungen
• Durch die extrem kleinen Maße kann das Modul hinter
Einbauschaltern und Steckdosen eingebaut werden (minimale
Einbautiefe 40 mm, Advis 50 mm). Das Modul ist auch ideal
geeignet für Lichtarmaturen, Haushaltgeräte und zum plazieren in
niedrigen Räumen z.B. abgesenkte Decken.
• Universell einsetzbar: völlig freie Wahl in Marke, Farbe und Modell
des Schaltmateriales.
• Auf das Modul können sowohl normale Schalter (an/aus) als auch
Pulsdruckschalter angeschlossen werden. Diese werden
automatisch vom Modul AWM 2 erkannt.
• Das Anlegen von Wechselschaltungen ohne Verkabelung zwischen
den Schaltern (die MicroModule geben ihren Status an andere
MicroModule weiter).
• Steuern von Macro’s/Scenario’s durch Bedienung eines
konventionellen Schalters (mit Hilfe von Marmitek ActiveHome).
Funktionen

Blau: gemeinsme (Null)
Braun: Eingang 1, programmierte Adresse + schaltet das
eingebaute Gerätemodul
Wird das braune Kabel mit dem blauen verbunden, so wird das
eingebaute Gerätemodul von AUS auf AN umgeschaltet oder von AN
nach AUS, je nach dem letzten Stand. Gleichzeitig wird die
Statusänderung des Gerätemoduls über das Lichtnetz zur
programmierten Adresse geschickt. Hierdurch können andere
Marmitek X-10 Module auf der gleichen Adresse auch geschaltet
werden, oder kann die Statusänderung bei anderen MicroModulen
z.B. beim Computerinterface gemeldet werden (aktivieren Macro’s,
Statusanzeige usw.).

Bitte beachten: Schalten Sie erst den Strom ein bevor Sie
programmieren.
Aktivieren Programmierstand
Um das MicroModul programmieren zu können, muss dieses erst in
den Programmierstand gebracht werden. Dies geschieht wie folgt:
• Drücken sie den Programmierknopf wenigstens 3 Sekunden ein.
Nachdem die Taste losgelassen wurde, brennt die rote LED-
Anzeige.
• ACHTUNG: Wenn innerhalb von 60 Sekunden kein Einstellbefehl
empfangen wird, verlässt das Modul automatisch den
Programmierstand.

Die Adresse und die Optionen können mit jedem Marmitek X-10
Sender oder Fernbedienung programmiert werden. In dem
nachstehenden Beispiel gehen wir aus vom Programmieren mit der
Marmitek 8in1-Fernbedienung (wenn Sie mit einer HF-Fernbedienung
wie der 8in1 programmieren, vergessen Sie dann bitte nicht, auch
einen TM13 Transceiver zu verwenden, so dass die Befehle der 8in1-
Fernbedienung auf das Lichtnetz gebracht werden).
Beispiel des Programmierens der Adresse E4:
• Stellen Sie Ihre Fernbedienung (s. Bedienungsanleitung 8in1-
Fernbedienung) und den TM13 Transceiver auf den Hauscode E.
• Bringen Sie das MicroModul in den Programmierstand.
• Drücken Sie auf die Marmitek X-10-Taste (Haussymbol) der 8in1-
Fernbedienung und anschliessend auf die Zifferntaste 4.
• Drücken Sie 2 x auf die ON-Taste.
• Das MicroModul reagiert mit zweimaligem Blinken der LED-
Anzeige.
• Die Adresse E4 ist nun programmiert.
Beispiel des Programmierens der Funktion ALLE GERÄTE AUS
• Programmieren Sie zuerst die gewünschte Adresse, (z.B. E4).
• Lassen Sie die Fernbedienung und den Transceiver TM13 auf dem
Hauscode E stehen oder stellen diese auf den Hauscode E ein.
• Bringen Sie das MicroModul in den Programmierstand.
• Drücken Sie 2x auf die Taste ALL UNITS OFF.
• Das MicroModul reagiert mit achtmaligem blinken der LED-
Anzeige.
Achtung!
• Im Programmierstand immer zuerst die Adresse programmieren
und anschliessend die übrigen, optionellen Funktionen.
• Bei Empfang einer neuen Adresse im Programmierstand, werden
die optionellen Funktionen in die Werkseinstellungen
zurückgebracht.

Marmitek X10 zender voor twee adressen met ingebouwde
apparaatmodule
Toepassingen
• Door de extreem kleine afmetingen kan de module ingebouwd
worden achter inbouwschakelaars en wandcontactdozen
(minimale inbouwdiepte 40 mm, advies 50 mm). De module is
ook ideaal voor inbouw in lichtarmaturen, huishoudelijke
apparatuur en voor plaatsing in kleine ruimte bij bijvoorbeeld
verlaagde plafonds.
• Universeel toepasbaar: volledige keuzevrijheid in het merk, kleur
en model schakelmateriaal.
• Op de module kunnen zowel normale schakelaars (maak/verbreek)
als pulsdrukschakelaars worden aangesloten. Deze worden
automatisch door de AWM2 herkend.
• Aanleggen van hotelschakelingen/wisselschakelingen zonder
bedrading tussen de schakelaars (MicroModules geven hun status
door aan andere MicroModules).
• Aansturen van Macro’s/Scenario’s door bediening van een
conventionele schakelaar (m.b.v. Marmitek ActiveHome).

Blauw: gemeenschappelijke ("0" draad)
Bruin: Ingang 1, Geprogrammeerde adres+ schakelt de
ingebouwde apparaatmodule
Wordt de bruine draad verbonden met de blauwe draad dan wordt
de ingebouwde apparaatmodule omgeschakeld van UIT naar AAN of
van AAN naar UIT afhankelijk van de laatste stand. Tevens wordt de
statuswijziging van de apparaatmodule verzonden via het lichtnet op
het geprogrammeerde adres. Hierdoor kunnen andere Marmitek X-10
modules op het zelfde adres ook worden geschakeld of kan de
statusverandering gemeld worden bij andere MicroModules of b.v. de
computerinterface (activeren Macro’s, statusindicatie, etc).

Wordt de rode draad verbonden met de blauwe draad (common) dan
wordt het geprogrammeerde "adres +1" verzonden (wanneer het gepro-
grammeerde adres A3 is verzendt ingang 2 adres A4). Was de status in de
module AAN dan wordt een UIT commando verzonden. Was de status in
de module UIT dan wordt een AAN commando verzonden. Hierdoor
kunnen Marmitek X-10 modules op afstand via het lichtnet worden
bestuurd of kunnen Macro’s in de computerinterface worden geactiveerd.

Programmeren
Let op: eerst de spanning inschakelen voordat u gaat programmeren.
Activeren programeerstand
Om de MicroModule te programmeren moet deze in de
programmeerstand worden gebracht. Dit gaat als volgt:
• Druk het programmeerknopje minimaal drie seconden in, zie
figuur 5, waarna de rode LED bij het loslaten blijft branden.
• LET OP! Indien binnen 60 seconden geen instelcommando

Opheffen programeerstand
• Druk éénmaal kort op het programmeerknopje; de rode LED is nu

Het adres en de opties kunnen geprogrammeerd worden met iedere
Marmitek X10 controller of afstandbediening. In het onderstaand
voorbeeld gaan we uit van het programmeren met behulp van de

Marmitek 8in1 afstandsbediening (wanneer u gaat programmeren
met een HF afstandsbediening zoals de 8in1, vergeet dan niet om
ook een TM13 transceiver te gebruiken zodat de commando’s van de
8in1 op het lichtnet worden geplaatst).
Voorbeeld van het programmeren van het adres E4:
• Stel uw afstandsbediening (zie gebruiksaanwijzing 8in1.
afstandsbediening) en TM13 transceiver in op huiscode E.
• Breng de MicroModule in de programmeerstand.
• Druk op de Marmitek X10 toets (huisje) van de 8in1
afstandbediening en daarna op cijfertoets 4.
• Druk 2x op de ON toets.
• De MicroModule reageert door 2x met de LED te knipperen.
• Het adres E4 is nu geprogrammeerd.
Voorbeeld van het programmeren van de ALL UNITS OFF
functie.
• Programmeer eerst het gewenste adres !! (bv E4).
• Laat de afstandbediening en de TM13 transceiver op de huiscode
E staan of stel deze in op deze huiscode.
• Breng de MicroModule in de programmeerstand.
• Druk 2x op de ALL UNITS OFF toets.
• De MicroModule reageert door 8x met de LED te knipperen.
Let op!
• In programmeermode altijd eerst het adres programmeren, en
daarna de andere optionele functies.
• Bij ontvangst van een nieuw adres tijdens de programmeermode.

instellingen.

Gebruik van de MicroModules in een driefasen installatie
De X10 zenders van de MicroModules versturen de commando’s
eenmalig voor gebruik op de eigen fase. Wanneer u wilt dat de
commando’s welke verstuurd worden door de MicroModules ook op
andere fasen gebruikt kunnen worden, dient u gebruik te maken van
de CAT 3000 actieve fasenkoppelaar/repeater.
