the oven bottom or cover an entire oven rack with materials
such as aluminum foil. Aluminum foil linings may trap heat,
causing a fire hazard.
Important Safety Notice
The California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement
Act requires the Governor of California to publish a list of
substances known to the state to cause cancer, birth
defects or other reproductive harm, and requires businesses
to warn customers of potential exposure to such substances.
DO NOT LEAVE CHILDREN ALONE —
children should not be left alone or unattended in the
area where appliance is in use. They should never be
allowed to sit or stand on any part of the appliance,
including the storage drawer, lower broiler drawer, warmer
drawer or lower double oven.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING YOUR
OVEN
Do not store items of interest to children in
the cabinets above a range or on the backguard of the
range. Children climbing on the range to reach items
could be seriously injured.
Protective Liners — DO NOT USE
ALUMINUM FOIL to line the oven bottom. Only use
aluminum foil as recommended in this manual. Improper
installation of these liners may result in risk of electric
shock, or fire.
DO NOT TOUCH SURFACE HEATING
UNITS, OR SURFACE COOKING ELEMENTS, AREAS
NEAR THESE SURFACE HEATING UNITS, OR INTERIOR
SURFACE OF THE OVEN. Both surface units and oven
heating elements may be hot even though they are dark in
color. Areas near surface cooking units may become hot
enough to cause burns. During and after use, do not touch,
or let clothing or other flammable materials touch these
areas until they have had sufficient time to cool. Among
these areas are the cook top, surfaces facing the cook top,
the oven vent openings and surfaces near these openings,
oven door and oven door window.
Use care when opening oven door, warmer drawer or
lower oven door — Stand to the side of the range when
opening the door of a hot oven. Let hot air or steam
escape before you remove or replace food in the oven.
• Keep oven vent ducts unobstructed. The oven vent is
located below the backguard. Touching the surfaces in
this area when the oven is operating may cause severe
burns. Also, do not place plastic or heat-sensitive items
on or near the oven vent. These items could melt or
ignite.
Wear proper apparel — loose-fitting or
hanging garments should never be worn while using the
appliance. Do not let clothing or other flammable
materials contact hot surfaces.
• Placement of interior oven racks. Always place oven
racks in desired location while oven is cool. If rack must
be moved while oven is hot use extreme caution. Use
potholders and grasp the rack with both hands to
reposition. Do not let potholders contact the hot heating
elements in the oven. Remove all utensils from the rack
before moving.
DO NOT USE WATER OR FLOUR on grease
fires — smother the fire with a pan lid, or use baking
soda, a dry chemical or foam-type extinguisher.
• Do not use the broiler pan without its insert. The broiler
pan and its insert allow dripping fat to drain and be kept
away from the high heat of the broiler.
When heating fat or grease, watch it
closely. Fat or grease may catch fire if allowed to become
too hot.
• Do not cover the broiler insert with aluminum foil.
Exposed fat and grease could ignite.
Use dry potholders moist or damp
potholders on hot surfaces may result in burns from
steam. Do not let potholders touch hot heating elements.
Do not use a towel or other bulky cloth instead of a
potholder.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING YOUR
COOKTOP
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR CERAMIC-
GLASS COOK TOP MODELS
• Do not cook on broken cook top—If cook top should
break, cleaning solutions and spillovers may penetrate
the broken cook top and create a risk of electric shock.
Contact a qualified technician immediately.
• Know which knob or keypad controls each surface
heating unit. Place a pan of food on the surface element
or heating unit before turning it on, and turn the element
or heating unit off before removing the pan.
• Clean cook top with caution—If a wet sponge or cloth is
used to wipe spills on a hot cooking area, be careful to
avoid a steam burn. Some cleaners can produce noxious
fumes if applied to a hot surface.
• Use proper pan size — This appliance is equipped with
one or more surface units of different sizes. Select
utensils having flat bottoms large enough to cover the
surface unit heating element. The use of undersized
utensils will expose a portion of the heating element to
direct contact and may result in ignition of clothing.
Proper relationship of utensil to element will also improve
efficiency.
• Utensil handles should be turned inward and not extend
over adjacent surface elements — To reduce the risk of
burns, ignition of flammable materials, and spillage due
to unintentional contact with the utensil, the handle of the
utensil should be positioned so that it is turned inward,
and does not extend over adjacent surface units.
• Never leave surface elements unattended at high heat
settings — Boilovers cause smoking and greasy spillovers
that may ignite, or a pan that has boiled dry may melt.
• Glazed cooking utensils — Only certain types of glass,
glass/ceramic, ceramic, earthenware, or other glazed
utensils are suitable for cook top service without breaking
due to the sudden change in temperature. Check the
manufacturer’s recommendations for cooktop use.
• When flaming foods under a ventilating hood, turn the
fan on.

Clean in the self-cleaning cycle only the parts listed in
this Use & Care Manual. Before self-cleaning the oven,
remove the oven racks, broil pan, broil pan insert and
any cookware, cooking utensils or food from the oven.
Clean the range regularly to keep all parts free of
grease that could catch fire. Pay particular attention to
the area around each surface element. Do not allow
grease to accumulate.
Do Not Use Oven Cleaners — No commercial oven
cleaner or oven liner protective coating of any kind
should be used in or around any part of the oven.
Kitchen cleaners and aerosols — Always follow the
manufacturer’s recommended directions for use. Be
aware that excess residue from cleaners and aerosols
may ignite causing damage and injury.
Do Not Clean Door Gasket — The door gasket is
essential for a good seal. Care should be taken not to
rub, damage or move the gasket.
• The health of some birds is extremely sensitive to the
fumes given off during the self-cleaning cycle of any
range. Move birds to another well-ventilated room.
Clean ventilating hoods frequently — Grease should not
be allowed to accumulate on the hood or filter. Follow
the manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning hoods.

Oven vent location
Types of oven racks
flat handle
oven rack
The oven vent is located under the left side of the control
panel (See Fig. 1). When the oven is on, warm air passes
through this vent. This venting is necessary for proper air
circulation in the oven and good baking results. Do not
block oven vent.

Removing, replacing and arranging oven racks
Always use pot holders or oven mitts when
using the oven. When cooking, the oven interior and
exterior, oven racks and cooktop will become very hot
which can cause burns.
The flat oven rack (some models) or flat handle oven rack
(some models) may be used for most cooking needs.
The offset oven rack (some models) is designed to place
the base of the rack about 1/2 of a rack position lower
than flat oven racks. This design provides several additional
possible positions between the flat rack positions.
Protective Liners — DO NOT USE
ALUMINUM FOIL to line the oven bottom. Only use
aluminum foil as recommended in this manual. Improper
installation of these liners may result in risk of electric
shock, or fire.
To maximize oven cooking space place the bottom oven
rack (on some models) in the lowest rack position for
roasting large cuts of meat. Be sure to remove the bottom
oven rack before activating Flex Clean to prevent it from
being discolored.
Arranging - always arrange
the oven racks when the
oven is cool (prior to
operating the oven).
7
Air circulation in the oven
To remove - pull the rack
forward until it stops. Lift up
front of rack and slide out.
6
For best baking results allow 2-4" (5-10 cm) around the
cookware for proper air circulation and be sure pans and
cookware do not touch each other, the oven door, sides or
back of the oven cavity. Hot air must be able to circulate
around the cookware in the oven for even heat to reach
around the food (See Fig. 3 ).
5
4
To replace - fit oven rack
onto the rack guides on both
sides of oven walls. Tilt the
front of oven rack upward
and slide the rack back into
place. Be sure oven racks
are level before using.

Surface Cookware Recommendations
Cookware material types
The cookware material determines how evenly and quickly
heat is transferred from the surface element to the pan
bottom. The most popular materials available are:
Using proper cookware
The size and type of
cookware used will
influence the radiant
element power level setting
needed for best cooking
results. Be sure to follow
the recommendations for
using proper cookware as
illustrated in both
Aluminum - Excellent heat conductor. Some types of food
will cause it to darken (Anodized aluminum cookware
resists staining & pitting). If aluminum pans slide across the
ceramic cooktop, they may leave metal marks which will
resemble scratches. Remove these marks immediately.
Copper - Excellent heat conductor but discolors easily. May
leave metal marks on ceramic glass (see Aluminum).
Figs. 1 & 2.
Fig. 1
Check for flatness by rotating a ruler across the bottom of
the cookware (See Fig. 1). Cookware should have flat
bottoms that make good contact with the entire surface
heating element (See Fig. 2). For more detailed information
about the ceramic cooktop see Cooktop maintenance and
Cooktop cleaning in the Care & Cleaning section.
Stainless - Slow heat conductor with uneven cooking
results. Is durable, easy to clean and resists staining.
Cast Iron - A slow heat conductor however will retain heat
very well. Cooks evenly once cooking temperature is
reached. Do not slide on cooktop. Cast iron cookware can
easily scratch the ceramic cooktop.
Porcelain-enamel on metal - Heating characteristics will
vary depending on base material. Porcelain-enamel
coating must be smooth to avoid scratching ceramic
cooktops.
Glass - Slow heat conductor. Not recommended for
ceramic cooktop surfaces because it may scratch the glass.
• Flat bottom and straight
sides.
• Tight fitting lids.
• Weight of handle does
not tilt pan. Pan is well
balanced.
• Pan sizes match the
amount of food to be
prepared and the size
of the surface element.
• Made of material that
conducts heat well.
• Easy to clean.
• Curved and warped pans.
Important note:
Do not place empty aluminum, glass or porcelain-enamel
coated cookware on the ceramic cooktop! The melting
point of cookware made with these materials may be
reached quickly especially if left empty & they may bond
to the ceramic cooktop. If the cookware melts it will
damage the cooktop! Be sure to follow all the cookware
manufacturer’s suggestions when using any type of
cookware on the ceramic cooktop.
• Cookware larger than
cooking area marked on
cooktop by more than
one-half inch or 12mm.
• Heavy handle tilts pan.
• Always match pot
diameter to element
size.
• Pan is smaller than the
heating area marked on
cooktop.

Before Setting Surface Controls
The ceramic glass cooktop
The element graphics of the ceramic cooktop outlines the
area of the surface element underneath the cooktop (See
Figs. 1 & 2 ).
Turbo Boil
The Turbo Boil feature (some models) offers a higher
wattage surface radiant element. Turbo Boil will bring
food items to boil much quicker and may be used when
preparing larger quantities of food. The cooktop graphics
will be clearly marked if this feature is available on your
cooktop (Fig. 3).
Fig. 2
Fig. 1
Fig. 3
Heat is transferred up through the surface of the cooktop
to the cookware. The type and size and condition of the
cookware, the number of surface elements in use and their
settings, are all factors that will affect the amount of heat
that will spread to areas beyond the surface elements.
Please note that areas surrounding the elements may
become hot enough to cause burns.
Cooktop Lockout
Use the Cooktop Lockout to lock all surface elements from
being accidentally turned ON (including Warmer Zone).
This feature will only lockout the cooktop features.
To turn the Cooktop Lockout feature ON:
1. Be sure all surface element controls are OFF.
2. Press and hold Cooktop Lockout keypad until
acceptance tone sounds (about 3 seconds).
Radiant surface elements
The element temperature rises gradually and evenly. As the
temperature rises, the element will glow red. To maintain
the selected setting, the element will cycle ON and OFF.
The heating element retains enough heat to provide a
uniform and consistent heat during the off cycle.
When the cooktop is locked, the cooktop locked
indicator icon will appear in the oven control display
window (Fig. 4 ).
For efficient cooking, turn off the radiant elements several
minutes before cooking is complete. This will allow any
remaining heat to complete the cooking process.
Important notes:
Fig. 4
• Radiant elements have a limiter that allows the element
to cycle ON and OFF, even at the HI setting. This helps
to prevent damage to the ceramic cooktop. Cycling at
the HI setting is normal and will occur more often if the
cookware is too small for the radiant element or if the
cookware bottom is not flat.
If a triple beep sounds (entry error tone) instead, check
and be sure all surface elements are turned OFF before
activating the Cooktop Lockout feature.
To turn the Cooktop Lockout feature OFF:
Press and hold Cooktop Lockout keypad until acceptance
tone sounds (about 3 seconds). The cooktop locked
indicator light will turn OFF and the cooktop may be used
for normal cooking operations.
• Pressing a cooktop keypad only activates or deactivates
the element but will not start the heating process.
Activating and powering any surface cooking element
requires pressing two keys - the
keypad first and
Important notes:
then a power level section must be added before the
element will begin heating.
• If Cooktop Lockout is active and a power failure occurs,
when power is restored the cooktop will remember the
setting and remain locked.
• Be sure to read the detailed instructions for ceramic glass
cooktop cleaning in the Care & Cleaning and Before You
Call checklist sections of this Use & Care Guide.
• Starting a Flex Clean cycle will automatically turn ON
the Cooktop Lockout feature. The cooktop will remain
locked until the Flex Clean cycle is finished and the oven
door has unlocked.

Cooktop display windows
The cooktop display windows will show the Sb message
whenever the Sabbath feature is active (Fig. 9). When
activated, the Sabbath feature works for both the oven and
cooktop together.
The cooktop controls provide a digital display for each of
the surface elements located on the cooktop. Power levels
and messages are easily monitored and adjusted using the
corresponding control keypads in combination with the
window displays.
Once the Sabbath feature is active, changes to the heat
levels for the cooktop heating elements will not show in the
displays. The cooktop will react slower to heat level
changes. See Sabbath feature section for complete
instructions.
Available power level settings
The cooktop control will display heat levels ranging from
Hi (Fig. 1) to Lo (Fig. 5) and OFF (Fig. 6). The settings
between 9.5 (Fig. 2) and 3.0 (Fig. 3) decrease or increase
in .5 increments. A medium setting is 5.0. The settings
between 3.0 (Figs. 3) and 1.2 (Fig. 4) are Simmer settings
which decrease or increase in increments of .2 to Lo for
more precise settings at lower heat levels.

After using any of the surface radiant element positions the
cooktop will become very HOT. After turning any of these
elements OFF, the cooktop will remain HOT for some time.
The corresponding Hot Surface (Fig. 7) message will
remain ON and turn OFF once the element position on the
cooktop has cooled sufficiently.
• Make sure the diameter of the canner does not exceed 1
inch beyond the surface element markings or burner. It is
recommended to use smaller diameter canners on
electric coil and ceramic glass cooktops.
• Start with hot tap water to bring water to boil more
quickly.
Fig. 7
• Use the highest heat seating when first bringing water to
a boil. Once boiling is achieved, reduce heat level to
lowest possible setting to maintain that boil.
Cooktop Lockout window message ( - - )
The (- -) message will appear whenever the Cooktop
Lockout feature is active (See Fig. 8). The cooktop features
will not operate during a Flex Clean cycle. Refer to the
Cooktop Lockout instructions for complete instructions.
• NEVER place or straddle a cooking utensil over two
different surface cooking areas at the same time. This
will cause uneven heating results and may cause the
ceramic cooktop to fracture.

heating element to cycle ON and OFF, even at the HI
setting. This helps prevent damage to the ceramic
cooktop. Cycling at the HI setting is normal and will
occur more often if the cookware is too small for the
radiant element or if the cookware bottom is not flat.

Conv Convert
The Conv Roast function combines a cook cycle with the
convection fan to roast meats and poultry. Meats cooked
with Conv Roast function will be juicer and poultry will be
crisp on the outside while staying tender and moist on the
inside.
The Conv Convert function makes it easy to convert any
baking recipe and include the convection feature. The oven
control uses the normal recipe settings and adjusts to a
lower temperature for convection baking.
When Conv Convert is used with a Delay Start setting, the
Conv Convert function will display a CF (See Fig. 1) as a
reminder to “check food” when the bake time is 75%
complete. At this time the oven control will sound 1 long
beep at regular intervals until the set cook time has
finished.
Conv Roast may be set for any oven temperature between
170°F (77°C) to 550°F (288°C).
Suggestions for Conv Roast:
• Preheating is not necessary when roasting foods using
Conv Roast.
• Since Conv Roast cooks food faster, reduce the cook time
by 25% from the recommended cook time of your recipe
(check the food at this time). If necessary, increase cook
time until the desired doneness is obtained.

Cakes Breads
Meat probe
The Cakes Breads functions are designed to give optimum
baking performance for Cakes or Breads. These functions
work well for baking cakes, brownies, pies (fresh or frozen),
baked custards, cheesecakes, breads, rolls, biscuits, muffins
and cornbread.
When cooking meat such as roasts, hams or poultry, use
the meat probe function to check the internal temperature
without any guesswork. For some foods, especially poultry
and roasts, testing the internal temperature is the best
method to insure properly cooked meats.
The Cakes function provides a preheat with a gentle
cycling of heat giving cakes more volume and allowing
delicate foods to cook more evenly.
Important notes:
• Use ONLY the meat probe supplied with appliance. Using
any other probe or device may result in damage to
appliance and the meat probe receptacle.
The Breads function adds a special preheat feature to the
bake cycle that thoroughly heats the oven from top to
bottom to give more evenly browned foods.
• Never leave or store meat probe inside oven.
• Handle the meat probe carefully when inserting and
removing from food or probe receptacle. Do not use
tongs to pull on meat probe cable when inserting or
removing from food or receptacle.
Example - To set the Cakes or Breads features:
1. Arrange interior oven racks when cool. If needed
Preheat oven as desired and place food in oven.
2. For Cakes, press the Cakes Breads keypad until CAKES
appears in the oven control display (See Fig. 1).
• Defrost food completely before inserting meat probe to
avoid damaging probe.
• To avoid possibility of burns, after cooking carefully
unplug meat probe using a pot holder to protect hands.
For Breads, press the Cakes Breads keypad until
BREADS appears in the oven control display (See Fig. 2).
3. Press

Important notes:
• For whole poultry or turkey, insert meat probe into the
thickest part of inner thigh, below the leg (See Fig. 4).
• Dark or dull pans absorb more heat than shiny bakeware
resulting in dark or overbrowning of foods. It may be
necessary to reduce the oven temperature or cook time
to prevent overbrowning of some foods. Dark pans are
recommended for pies. Shiny pans are recommended for
cakes, cookies and muffins.

Setting Slow Cook
The Slow Cook function may be used to cook foods more
slowly and at lower oven temperatures. Slow Cook provides
cooking results much the same way as a Slow Cooker or
Crock-Pot.
FOOD POISONING HAZARD. Do not let
food sit for more than one hour before or after cooking.
Doing so can result in food poisoning or sickness. Foods
that can easily spoil such as milk, eggs, fish, meat or
poultry, should be chilled in the refrigerator first. Even
when chilled, they should not stand in the oven for more
than 1 hour before cooking begins, and should be removed
promptly when finished cooking.
Slow Cook is ideal for roasting beef, pork & poultry. Slow
cooking meats may result in the exterior of meats
becoming dark but not burnt. This is normal.
For Slow Cook two settings are available, high (Hi) or low
(Lo). The high setting is best for cooking foods from a 4 to
5 hour time period. The low setting is best for cooking
foods from a 8 to 9 hour time period.
Example — To set Slow Cook:
1. Position cookware in oven and close oven door.
2. Press Slow Cook keypad. Hi will appear in the display
indicating the default temperature setting is for high.
3. If a low setting is needed, press Slow Cook keypad
again to select the low setting.
Some tips for best results when using Slow Cook:
• Completely thaw all frozen foods before cooking with
the Slow Cook.
4. Press
to activate Slow Cook.
• When using a single oven rack, place in oven rack
position 2 or 3.
To cancel Slow Cook at anytime press
.
Important notes:
• Slow Cook may be used with additional settings of Cook
Time and Delay Start.
• Position multiple racks to accommodate size of cooking
utensils when cooking multiple food items.
• Do not open the oven door often or leave the door open
when checking foods. If the oven heat escapes often, the
Slow Cook time may need to extended.
• The maximum cook time for the Slow Cook is 11 hours
and 59 minutes unless the control has been changed to
the continuous Bake mode.
• Cover the foods to keep them moist or use a loose or
vented type cover to allow foods to turn crisp or brown.
• Roasts may be left uncovered so browning can occur.
Cook times will vary; depending on the weight, fat
content, bone & the shape of the roast.
• Use the recipe’s recommended food temperature and a
food thermometer to determine when the food is done.
• Preheating the oven will not be necessary when using the
Slow Cook feature.
• Add any cream or cheese sauces during the last hour of
cooking.

Adjusting oven temperature
Restoring factory default settings
Your appliance has been factory calibrated and tested to
ensure an accurate baking temperature. For the first few
uses, follow your recipe times and temperature
recommendations carefully. If you think the oven is cooking
too hot or too cool for your recipe times, you may adjust
the control so the oven cooks hotter or cooler than the oven
temperature displayed.
When new, your appliance was set with predetermined
oven control settings. Over time, the user may make
changes to these default settings. The following features or
functions have user options or adjustments that may have
been changed from the factory default settings:
• 12 or 24 hour display mode
• Continuous bake or 12-Hour Energy Savings mode
• Silent or audible control
• Oven temperature display (Fahrenheit or Celsius)
• Oven temperature adjustments
• All stored recipes
The oven temperature offset may be increased as much as
+35°F (+19°C) or decreased -35°F (-19°C) from the factory
calibrated settings.
Example — To increase (+) or decrease (-) the oven
temperature by 20°F:
• Meat Probe settings
• Accent Light brightness setting
1. Press and hold Bake keypad until the control provides
the 2nd audible tone (about 6 seconds).
2. Enter 2 0 using numeric keypad.
3. Press Flex Clean keypad to toggle between plus (+) if
increasing temperature or minus (-) if decreasing the
temperature. These symbols will show in the display.
Please be aware before restoring to factory default
settings that ALL of the above user settings will be restored,
including any oven temperature offset and any stored
recipe information.
Example — To restore to factory default settings:
4. Press
to accept change.
1. Press and hold the 7 numeric keypad until acceptance
tone sounds (about 6 seconds).
Important notes:
• Oven temperature adjustments made will not change the
Broil or Flex Clean function temperatures.
2.Press
. The control will reset all user preference
settings back to factory default settings.
• If the temperature shows an adjustment of -20°F, and a
+20°F adjustment is needed, you can toggle between the
minus (-) or plus (+) in the display when pressing Flex
Clean keypad (See step 3).
DO NOT USE oven thermometers such as those found in
grocery stores to check the temperature settings inside
your oven. These oven thermometers may vary as much
as 20 to 40°F from actual temperatures.
• The oven temperature adjustment may be made if your
oven control has been set to display °C (Celsius)
temperatures. Minimum and maximum settings for
Celsius are plus (+) or minus (-) 19°C.

Warmer Drawer
Warm & Ready™ drawer (some models)
The purpose of the warmer drawer is to keep hot cooked
foods at serving temperatures. Examples are vegetables,
gravies, meats, casseroles, biscuits, rolls and pastries. It is
not recommended to heat cold food in the warmer drawer;
always start with hot food.
Arranging warmer drawer rack positions
The keep warmer drawer rack may be used in 2 ways:
• In the upright position (See Fig. 1) to allow low profile
food items to be placed both under and on top of the
rack (for example, rolls or biscuits on top of the rack and
a casserole dish underneath).
The warmer drawer may also be used to warm dinner
plates. All food items placed in the warmer drawer should
be covered with a lid or aluminum foil to maintain quality.
• In the downward position (See Fig. 2) to allow for light
weight food items and empty cookware (for example,
rolls or pastries and dinner plates) on the rack.
Storage in or on appliance—flammable
materials should not be stored in an oven, warmer
drawer, near surface units. This includes paper, plastic and
cloth items, such as cookbooks, plasticware and towels, as
well as flammable liquids. Do not store explosives, such as
aerosol cans, on or near the range.
Fig. 1
DO NOT LEAVE CHILDREN ALONE —
children should not be left alone or unattended in the
area where appliance is in use. They should never be
allowed to sit or stand on any part of the appliance,
including the warmer drawer.
Always use potholders or oven mitts when
removing food from the warmer drawer as cookware and
plates will be hot and you can be burned.

Warmer Drawer
Proof Bread
Warmer drawer humidity controller
This feature may be used to control humidity levels in the
warmer drawer. The humidity control knob is located on
the inside front panel of the warmer drawer.
The warmer drawer has a Proof Bread feature that may be
used to prepare bread dough. The recommended length of
time to keep the bread dough in the warmer drawer is
about 45-60 minutes. Be sure however to follow the recipe’s
recommended times.
To help keep foods moist, move the handle to the right. This
closes the vents and helps keep the moisture inside the
warmer drawer. For crisp foods, move the handle to the
left. This opens the vents and allows more of the moisture
to escape.
Since the bread dough will nearly double in volume be sure
to place the prepared dough in a large bowl. Arrange the
warmer drawer rack in the downward position (See Fig. 1)
and place the bowl with dough on the warmer drawer
rack.
For dry heat: Slide the humidity control knob in the
direction of (Less)
(See Fig. 3). This allows more of the
moist heat to escape and provides a dryer environment for
the food in the warmer drawer.
For moist heat: Slide the humidity control knob in the
direction of (More)
(See Fig. 4). More moisture will
remain in the warmer drawer cavity. This will help keep the
food in the warmer drawer from drying out.
Fig. 1
To set Proof Bread using warmer drawer:
1. Arrange the warmer drawer rack in warmer drawer
(See Fig. 1) and place bread dough in a large bowl on
warmer drawer rack. Close warmer drawer.
2. Press
keypad to turn ON warmer drawer.
3. Press Lo keypad once set warmer drawer to Lo power
setting.
Fig. 3
4. Press Lo keypad again to activate Proof Bread feature.
The Proof Bread indicator light will glow when the Proof
Bread feature is active (See Fig. 2).
5. When the bread dough is ready, press the
keypad
to turn the warmer drawer off and remove bread dough
from warmer drawer.
Fig. 4
Important note:
For some types of servings you may want to store
previously prepared food in a “dry heat” environment.
For frequent controller adjustments, slightly loosen humidity
controller knob and slide to the desired position. To
maintain a setting, adjust controller knob into position and
tighten knob.

Flex Clean
A self-cleaning oven cleans itself with high temperatures
that are well above normal cooking temperatures. The high
cleaning temperature eliminates soils completely or reduces
them to a fine powdered ash you can wipe away
afterwards with a damp cloth.
• Remove any excessive spillovers. Any spills on the oven
bottom should be wiped-up and removed before starting
a self-clean cycle. To clean, use hot, soapy water and a
cloth. Large spillovers can cause heavy smoke or fire
when subjected to high temperatures. DO NOT allow
food spills with a high sugar or acid content (such as
milk, tomatoes, sauerkraut, fruit juices or pie filling) to
remain on the surface as they may leave a dull spot even
after cleaning.
The Flex Clean function allows you to set any amount of
cleaning time from 2 hours to 4 hours. A 3-hour cleaning
time is best used for normal cleaning; 2-hour time for light
soils and a 4-hour clean time for heavier stubborn soils.
DO NOT clean the oven door gasket (See Fig. 1). The
woven material of the oven door gasket is essential for a
good seal. Care should be taken not to rub, damage or
remove the gasket. DO NOT use any cleaning materials
on the oven door gasket. Doing so could cause damage
to the door gasket.
Read before starting Flex Clean
Be sure to read all the following caution and important
statements BEFORE starting a self-clean cycle:
DO NOT leave small children unattended
near the appliance. During the self-cleaning cycle, the
outside of the range can become very hot to touch and can
cause burns.
DO NOT line the oven walls, racks, bottom
or any other part of the range with aluminum foil. Doing
so will destroy heat distribution, produce poor baking
results and cause permanent damage to the oven interior.
Aluminum foil will melt to the interior of the oven.
The health of some birds is extremely
sensitive to the fumes given off during the self-cleaning
cycle of any range. Move birds to another well-ventilated
room.
DO NOT force the oven door open. This can
damage the automatic door locking system.
Use caution when opening the oven door
after self-cleaning. The oven may still be VERY HOT and
can cause burns. To avoid possible burns stand to the side
of the oven when opening the oven door to allow hot air or
steam to escape.
Fig. 1
Setting Flex Clean
Important notes:
Example — To set Flex Clean to start immediately:
• Completely remove all items and accessories from oven
cavity to avoid damage. Porcelain coated heavy duty
oven racks may be left in oven. The bottom oven rack is
not porcelain and should be removed to prevent
discoloration.
1. Be sure to remove ALL items from oven except porcelain
coated heavy duty oven racks. Remove all items from
the cooktop. Be sure oven door is completely closed.
2. Press Flex Clean keypad for a default 3-hour clean
time. After pressing Flex Clean you may accept the
default 3-hour clean time by going to step 3.
• Remove ALL items from the cooktop including cookware,
utensils and ANY ALUMINUM FOIL. Aluminum foil will
not withstand high temperatures from a self-clean cycle
and can melt.
At this time you may choose a different clean time. The
amount of clean time must be within 2 to 4 hours and
entered using the numeric keys pads. For example enter
2 0 0 for a 2-hour time or enter 4 0 0 for a 4-hour self-
clean time. You may choose a 2 hour 15 minute clean
time by entering 2 1 5 (hours and minutes).
DO NOT use oven cleaners or oven protective coatings in
or around any part of the oven interior.
• Clean any soil from the oven frame, the door liner outside
the oven door gasket and the small area at the front
center of the oven bottom (See Fig. 1). These areas heat
sufficiently to burn soil on. Clean using soap and water
prior to starting Flex Clean (See Fig. 1).
3. Press
to activate Flex Clean.

Important notes:
• When Flex Clean function is active you may check the
amount of clean time remaining by pressing the Flex
Clean keypad once.
Use caution when opening the oven door
after self-cleaning. The oven may still be VERY HOT
and can cause burns. To avoid possible burns stand to
the side of the oven when opening the oven door to
allow hot air or steam to escape.
• If your control is set with the default 12 hour display
mode, the Delay Flex Clean can only be set to start up to
11 hours and 59 minutes in advance. To set a Delay Start
Flex Clean to begin 12 or more hours (maximum is 23
hours and 59 minutes) in advance, be sure to set the
control for 24 hour display mode.
3. When the oven interior has completely cooled, wipe
away any residue or powdered ash with a damp cloth
or paper towel.
• If Flex Clean is active and then interrupted by power
failure or cancelled before the oven was thoroughly
cleaned, it may be necessary to run a self-clean cycle
again. If the oven temperature was high enough when
interrupted you may need to allow up to 4 hours for the
oven to cool before Flex Clean can be started again.
Important notes:
• The kitchen area should be well ventilated using an open
window, ventilation fan or exhaust hood during the 1st
self-clean cycle. This will help eliminate the normal odors
associated with the 1st self-clean cycle.
• When the clean time finishes the oven door will remain
locked until the range has cooled sufficiently. In addition
to the clean time that was programmed, you must allow
about 1 additional hour for the oven to cool before you
will be able to open the oven door.
• The Flex Clean function will not operate whenever a
radiant surface element is ON or the oven lockout is
active.

Care & Cleaning
Cooktop maintenance
Cooktop cleaning
Consistent and proper cleaning is essential to maintaining
your ceramic glass cooktop.
DO NOT use a cooktop cleaner on a hot
cooktop. The fumes can be hazardous to your health, and
can chemically damage the ceramic-glass surface.
Prior to using your cooktop for the first time, apply the
recommended CookTop® Cleaning Creme to the ceramic
surface (on the web visit www.sears.com for replacement
cooktop cleaner, item number 40079). Buff with a
nonabrasive cloth or no-scratch cleaning pad. This will
make cleaning easier when soiled from cooking. The
special cooktop cleaning cream leaves a protective finish
on the glass to help prevent scratches and abrasions.
Before cleaning the cooktop, be sure the
controls are turned to OFF and the cooktop is COOL. The
glass surface could be hot and burns may occur if the
glass surface is touched before it has cooled sufficiently.
For light to moderate soil:
Apply a few drops of CookTop® Cleaning Creme directly
to the cooktop. Use a paper towel or use a nonabrasive
plastic type no-scratch cleaning pad to clean the entire
cooktop surface. Make sure the cooktop is cleaned
thoroughly, leaving no residue.
Sliding aluminum or copper clad bottom pans on the
cooktop can cause metal markings on the cooktop surface.
These marks should be removed immediately after the
cooktop has cooled using the cooktop cleaning cream.
Metal marks can become permanent if not removed prior
to future use.
For heavy, burned on soil:
Apply a few drops of CookTop® Cleaning Creme directly
to the soiled area. Rub the soiled area using a nonabrasive
plastic type no-scratch cleaning pad, applying pressure as
needed. Do not use the pad you use to clean the cooktop
for any other purpose.
Cookware (cast iron, metal, ceramic or glass) with rough
bottoms can mark or scratch the cooktop surface.
Do not:
• Use cookware with dirt or dirt build up on bottom;
replace with clean cookware before using.
If soils remain, carefully scrape soils with a metal razor
blade scraper, holding scraper at a 30 degree angle to the
surface. Remove loosened soils with cooktop cleaning
cream and buff surface clean.
• Use your cooktop as a cutting board or work surface in
the kitchen.
• Cook foods directly on the cooktop surface without a
pan.
• Drop heavy or hard objects on the ceramic glass
cooktop, they may cause it to crack.
• Slide anything metal or glass across the cooktop.
30°
Plastic or foods with a high sugar content:
These types of soils need be removed immediately if spilled
or melted onto the ceramic cooktop surface. Permanent
damage (such as pitting of the cooktop surface) may occur
if not removed immediately. After turning the surface
elements OFF, use a razor blade scraper or a metal spatula
with a mitt and scrape the soil from the hot surface (as
illustrated). Allow the cooktop to cool, and use the same
method for heavy or burned on soils.

Care & Cleaning
Cooktop cleaning (cont’d)
Aluminum foil and utensils
Do not use the following on the cooktop:
• Do not use abrasive cleaners and scouring pads, such as
metal and some nylon pads. They may scratch the
cooktop, making it more difficult to clean.
• Do not use harsh cleaners, such as chlorine bleach,
ammonia or oven cleaners, as they may etch or discolor
the cooktop.
• Do not use dirty sponges, cloths or paper towels, as they
can leave soil or lint on the cooktop which can burn and
cause discoloration.
NEVER cover any slots, holes or passages in
the oven bottom or cover an entire oven rack with materials
such as aluminum foil. Aluminum foil linings may trap heat,
causing a fire hazard.
Protective Liners — DO NOT USE
ALUMINUM FOIL to line the oven bottom. Only use
aluminum foil as recommended in this manual. Improper
installation of these liners may result in risk of electric
shock, or fire.
Important note:
Aluminum foil - Use of aluminum foil on a hot cooktop can
damage the cooktop. Do not use thin aluminum cooking
utensils or allow aluminum foil to touch the surface
elements under ANY circumstances.
Damage to the ceramic glass cooktop may occur if you use
an abrasive type cleaning pad. Only use cleaning products
that have been specifically designed for ceramic glass
cooktops.
Replacing oven lights
Be sure the range is unplugged and all parts
are COOL before replacing oven light. Wear a leather-
faced glove for protection against possible broken glass.
Replacing the oven interior light bulb:
1. Turn electrical power off at the main source or unplug
the appliance.
2. Remove interior oven light shield (See Fig. 1).
3. Replace bulb with a new T-4 type 40 Watt halogen
appliance bulb. Do not allow your fingers to touch the
halogen bulb when replacing. This will shorten the life of
the new bulb. Use a paper towel to cover the new bulb
when installing.
4. Replace glass interior oven light shield.
5. Turn power back on again at the main source (or plug
the appliance back in).

enough.
• Incorrect surface control setting. Adjust power level setting.
Surface element does not heat or does
not heat evenly.
• Be sure the correct surface control is turned ON for surface element needed.
• Lightweight or warped pans used. Use only flat, evenly balanced, medium or
heavyweight cookware. Flat pans heat better than warped pans. Cookware
materials and weight of the material affect heating. Heavy & medium-
weight pans heat evenly. Because lightweight pans heat unevenly, foods may
burn easily.
