NOTE:
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B Digital Device, pursuant
to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful
interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency
energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference
to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular

3.Heat and Flame
The unit should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other appliances
(including amplifiers) that produce heat.
No naked flame sources such as lighted candles should be placed on the apparatus.
4.Power Source
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for assistance.
The unit should be connected to a power supply only of the type described in the operating instructions or as
marked on the appliance.
5.Cleaning
The unit should be cleaned only as recommended. See the section "Care and Maintenance" of this manual for
cleaning instructions.
6.Object and Liquid Entry
Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled into any openings or vents located on
the product.
7.Attachments
Do not use attachments no recommended by the product manufacturer.
8.Lightning and Power Surge Protection
Unplug the unit from the wall outlet and disconnect the periods of time. This will prevent damage to the product due
to lightning and power-line surges.
9.Overloading
Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire
of electric shock.

11.Periods of Nonuse
If the unit is to be left unused for an extended period of time, such as a month or longer, the AC adaptor should be
unplugged from the unit to prevent damage or corrosion.
12.Environment
Attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal; the use of apparatus in moderate
climates.
13.Servicing
The user should not attempt to service the unit beyond those methods described in the user's operating
instructions. Service methods not covered in the operating instructions should be referred to qualified service
personnel.

We recommend that you placethe JiSS-550 properlyon your desk, counter or table.
The unit producesexceptional sound from anylistening position in the room.
However, the bestquality sound andsurround sound effects will beheard with the unit

NOTE: No adaptors are provided for iPod with video 30GB, 60GB and 80GB. Please use the adaptors
included with these iPods at time of purchase. They will fit properly into the docking stations of
this system.

Before using this speaker system, please following these steps to help you to set up the system.
1. Plug the AC adaptor into a standard wall outlet rated at 120V AC/60Hz.
2. Connect the output of the AC adaptor to the Power In jack on the back of the main unit.
3. Connect the docking station audio-cable plug to the AUX IN jack on the back of the main unit.

DOCKING 1st AND 2nd GENERATION iPod nanos
iPod DOCKING
This model includes adaptors for adopting different iP od models. If the docking cradle will not be used for an
extended period of time, it is recommended to use the “Dock C over” insert to help protect the docking
connector.
1. S elect a suitable adaptor for your iP od and insert it into the docking cradle.
2. Your iP od can now be docked by placing the connector on the bottom of
the iP od directly over the dock connector located in the docking cradle.
Seat the iPod on the dock connector to assure a proper connection.
First install the iPod nano bracket into theJ. iSS-550 Docking Cradle
1st Generation iPod nano: Align your 1st generation iPod nano to the
LEFT side ofthe opening in the nano bracket (Figure 1). Make sure
the connector on the bottom of the nano is positioned over the
connector in the JiSS-550 dock prior to seating the nano. Carefully
slide the nano down onto the connector in order to insure a secure
connection.
For docking an iP od nano, slide the dock connector to the left and
also see note on " DOC KING 1st AND 2nd G E NE R ATION

2nd Generation iPod nano: Align your 2nd generation iPod nano to the
RIGHT side of the opening in the nano bracket (Figure 2 ). Make sure
the connector on the bottom of the nano is positioned over the
connector in the JiSS-550 dock prior to seating the nano. Carefully
slide the nano down onto the connector in order to insure a secure
connection.
For other iP od models, slide the dock connector to the right (center position)
and insert the iP od adaptor for the type of iPod you are using.
3. Insert your iP od with the c onnector facing down and positioned directly over the dock connector
located in the docking cradle. Seat the iPod on the dock connector to assure a proper connection.
Note: Be careful not to damage the connector when docking the nano.
Never use force when docking the nano onto the connector.

Note: When docking your iPod, p leas e be careful to avoid damaging the30-pin connectors
located on the iPod and in the docking cradle.
4. S lide the Audio Input S elector switch on the back of the docking cradle to iP od position.
You are able to view videos and photos stored in your 5th G eneration iP od on a larger television screen
or monitor using the built-in Video Output jacks on the back of the Docking C radle.

6. P ress the P L AY / PAUS E
7. Adjust the sound level by pressing the VOL UME + / - buttons.
Note : The Volume level cannot be adjus ted us ing the volume control on your iP od when
docked.
8. The iP od charges even during playback.
9. To remove the iP od from the Docking Cradle,press and hold the P L AY/PAUS E button for three seconds
to switch off the iPod. You can now gently remove it from the docking cradle.

Video Out (For 5th G eneration iP ods with video ONL Y)
1. You can connect this unit to a television or other video display that has S -video or composite
video inputs.
2. S ecurely dock the iP od with video in the cradle.
3. C onnect the S -video cable (included) into the rear S -video jack or yellow R C A cable (included) to rear
R C A video jack on the unit.
4. C onnect the other end of the S -video or yellow R C A cable to VIDE O IN on your television or video display.
5. S lide the Audio Input S elector switch on the back of the docking cradle to iP od position.
6. S elect a movie from your iP od menu.
iP od playback control from remote control:
- P ress the P L AY/PAUS E
button to pause or resume the iP od playback;
or Backward button to skip to the next or previous song;
or Backward button for fast-forwarding or
- P ress the iP od S kip/S earch Forward
- P ress and hold the iP od S kip/S earch Forward
fast-rewinding during playback.
7. iP od: On the main menu choose video then select video setting.
8. iP od: Make sure the TV Out section is set to “ON”.
9. iP od: S witch back to the movie library and play the movie of your choice.
For P hoto view (For iP od with color dis play ONL Y - excludes nano)
1. S lide the Audio Input S election switch on the back of the docking cradle to iP od position.
2. S ecurely dock the iP od with color display.
3. iP od: At TV Out section, make sure it is set to “ON”
4. iP od: G o to P hoto Library and then press play. The slideshow will play on your device.
Note: 1. The R C A Video input connector on a television is usually color coded yellow to match the
color on the AV cable.
2. When playing slideshows or videos, the audio will only playback through the speakers on this unit.

- Do not subject the unit to excessive force, shock, dust or extreme temperature.
- Do not tamper the internal components of the unit.
- C lean your unit with a damp (never wet) cloth. S olvent or detergent should never be used.
- Avoid leaving your unit in direct sunlight or in hot, humid or dusty places.
- Keep your unit away from heating appliances and sources of electrical noise such as fluorescent lamps
or motors.

Note: In this method, your iP od docking cradle ca nnot used or connected to ma in unit.

(2) Insert the " Dock C over" (included) into the cradle to create a holder for your player.
(3) Small portable players can now be placed in the cradle without damaging the iPod connector.

get the best volume level.

returning the unit, please remove batteries to prevent damage to the unit in transit and/or from possible
leakage. We are not responsible for batteries returned with the product or for the cost of replacement.
Please make sure that your iPod is
working properly before docking into
the unit. Please refer to your iPod
manual for info on resetting the iPod.
iPod mode is not selected.

try reducing the output volume on the
device itself. Also try turning bass
boost OFF or change the EQ setting.
Unit gets warm after
