					Ⅵ B.E.S.T. — ON / OFF
When B.E.S.T. (Biconditional Equalized Signal Tracking) system is
set to “ON”, this recorder checks the condition of the tape in use

highest-possible pictures. This takes place whenever you play
back a tape or start recording after inserting a tape.
					Ⅵ AUTO TIMER — ON / OFF

					instead of “AUTO”.
EDIT: Minimizes picture degradation during editing (recording and
					playback).
SOFT: Reduces image coarseness when viewing overplayed tapes
					containing much noise.
					Ⅵ O.S.D. — ON / OFF

					tape.
SHARP: Clearer, sharper-edged picture when viewing images with
much flat, same-coloured surfaces such as cartoons.
					Ⅵ AUTO SP]LP TIMER — ON / OFF
					NOTE:
When this function is set to “ON”, the recorder automatically
switches to LP mode to allow complete recording if there is not
enough tape to record the entire program while timer-recording in
					SP mode.
Select “EDIT” when you are editing tapes. After you finish editing
					the tapes, select “AUTO”.

					Total 210 minutes
					NOTES:
					● If you have programed the recorder to timer-record 2 or more
programs, do not use this function, but change the tape speed

speed switches from SP to LP mode on the tape.
					● The Auto SP]LP Timer feature is not available during ITR
(Instant Timer Recording), and the feature will not work
properly with any tapes longer than E-180 or with some tapes of
					shorter lengths.

					Changing Remote Control Code
					Editing
					This remote control is capable of transmitting two control codes;
one set to respond to A code control signals and another set to
respond to B code control signals. This remote control is preset to
send A code signals because your recorder is initially set to
respond to A code signals. You can easily modify your recorder
and the remote control to respond to B code signals. When using
two JVC recorders, set two recorders and their remote controls to
different codes, so that you can operate these recorders separately.
You can use your recorder as the playback or recording deck. You
can use a camcorder as the source player and your recorder as the
recording deck. Refer also to the other components’ instruction
manuals for connection and its operations.
					A Make connections
Example: When using this recorder as the source player
A Set remote control code for remote control
					This recorder (for playback)
					To AUDIO/VIDEO OUT
					A Press and hold VCR.
B Press the Number key “2”.
C Press OK, and release VCR.

Press any key on the remote control. The recorder now responds
					to B code control signals.

control signals, repeat the same procedure as shown above
except pressing the Number key “1” in step B of 1.
					To AV input
To control two recorders with the same remote
					control
					Another recorder (for recording)
You can control two JVC recorders by switching the remote
control code for the remote control between A and B (੬ step A),
keeping two recorders to different control codes.
					● When using this recorder as the recording deck, connect this
recorder’s AV input connectors to the AV output connectors on
the other recorder. If the source player is monaural, connect the
audio output connector on the source player to the left audio
					input connector on this recorder.
					● To change only the remote control code for the remote control,
DO NOT perform steps B and C.
					B Load cassettes
Insert the playback cassette into the source player and the cassette
to be recorded on into the recording deck.
C Select input mode on recording deck
Select the correct external input on the recording deck.

					NOTES:
When viewing NTSC tapes on a PAL TV set:
					● The picture may shrink vertically with black bars appearing at the top and bottom of the screen. This is not a malfunction on the part of the
					video recorder nor the TV.
					● The picture may roll up or down. This can be corrected using the V-HOLD control found on some TVs. (This cannot be corrected if the TV
does not have a V-HOLD control.)
					● During search, still, or frame-by-frame playback, the picture will be distorted, and there may be a loss of colour.
					ATTENTION:
When this recorder is connected to a multi-system TV, the audio signal may not be heard or may be noisy if the colour system select switch
of the TV is adjusted to the AUTO position. In such a case, set the TV’s colour system select switch to the appropriate position which
corresponds to the TV system you have selected at the TV System Select screen.

					IMPORTANT
Perform the following steps only if auto channel set has not been
set correctly by Auto Set Up function or if you have moved to a
different area or if a new station starts broadcasting in your area.
					● Since your recorder memorises all detected stations even if the
reception condition is poor, some of those stored stations may
produce a noisy picture. To delete those stations, refer to
					“Delete A Channel”.
Your recorder needs to memorise all necessary stations in channel
