●When you don’t use this monitor for a long period of time, be sure to

disconnect both the power plug from the AC outlet and antenna for your

safety.

●To prevent electric shock do not use this polarized plug with an extension

cord, receptacle or other outlet unless the blades can be fully inserted to

prevent blade exposure.

10) Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at

plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the

apparatus.

11) Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

12) Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table

specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the

apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when

moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury

from tip-over.

13) Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long

periods of time.

14) Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required

when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-

supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have

fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or

moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

15) Apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects

16) Place the monitor on a stable, flat surface. Failure to do so can result in

the monitor falling, causing injury.

18) DO NOT allow young children to play with the plastic bag that came

with the monitor when you unpacked it. Failure to do so can result in

suffocation, causing injury.

19) Avoid improper installation and never position the unit where good

ventilation is impossible. When installing this monitor, distance

recommendations must be maintained between the set and the wall, as

well as inside a tightly enclosed area or piece of furniture. Keep to the

minimum distance guidelines shown for safe operation.

20) Cautions for installation

●Do not tilt the monitor towards the left or right, or towards the back.

●Install the monitor in a corner on the floor so as to keep cords out of the

way.

●The monitor will generate a slight amount of heat during operation.

Ensure that sufficient space is available around the monitor to allow

satisfactory cooling.

●Have two people remove the monitor from the box with the screen

facing away from you. It’s possible your clothing, (such as a belt buckle

or button) may scratch the front of the monitor. Do the same when

moving the monitor to another location.

21) When installing the monitor on the wall, ask your dealer to install.

22) Make enough room for inserting and removing the power plug. Place

the monitor as close to the outlet as possible. The main power supply

for this monitor is controlled by inserting or removing the power plug.

23) Batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or

the like.

24) When this monitor is connected to the wall outlet, it is always on

standby even when all the LED lamps are not lit. To shut down the

monitor, unplug the monitor from the wall outlet.

Attaching and connecting the speaker unit

Attach the supplied speaker unit under the monitor using the supplied

screws.

● Refer to the startup sheet for details.

● You can also connect speakers other than the supplied

one. In this case, set “PEQ” to “Off”. (➔ page 28)

Install the unit properly referring to the cautions from pages ii to vii.

● Do not hold the speaker unit when carrying the monitor. Hold the stand base

and the upper part of the monitor by two or more people.

To adjust the vertical position of monitor

The monitor is height-adjustable in 3 positions, by 5.5 cm (2 1/4’’) at the

maximum. Adjust the vertical position of the monitor when you need to

place a device under the monitor.

1 Detach the monitor from the stand.

1-1 Spread a soft cloth on a flat table or floor to place the removed

monitor on.

1-2 Remove the screw connecting

the monitor and the stand.

1-3 Detach the monitor from the

stand.

● The monitor should be carried by

two or more people.

2 Change the position of the hooks.

2-1 Detach the two hooks from the monitor.

2-2 Attach the hooks again.

● Select the positions of the hooks according to the monitor position you want,

and fix them with the screws.

Controlling HDMI devices

You can control HDMI CEC devices connected to this monitor using the

remote of the monitor.

● This function can be customized in the “HDMI” settings (➔ page 36).

● Devices may not operate or may function differently from described,

depending on the model or the manufacturer.

To select the audio output

When an HDMI CEC amplifier is connected to the monitor, you can select

either the monitor or the amplifier as the device to output the sound

signal.

● To output the sound from the amplifier, set “AMP Control” (➔ page 37) to “On”,

and connect the audio output terminals of the player into the amplifier.

1 Press the [LINK] button.

2 Select “Monitor” or “AMP” under “Speaker”.

● “Monitor” : The sound is output from the monitor. The volume buttons of the

monitor control the volume of the monitor.

● “AMP” : The sound is output from the amplifier. The volume buttons of the

monitor control the volume of the amplifier.

needs

Make picture adjustments according to your needs using the “Picture” menu.

● You can save six sets (“memories”) of your adjustments.

● You can load a preset into memory and use it as it is, or make your own

adjustment.

To use a preset

This monitor features rich menus for picture control, in addition to 6 pre-

installed sets of picture settings carefully prepared by JVC to suit various

types of video content and viewing environment.

Enjoy controlling appearance of pictures using the “Picture” menu, and

create your own picture settings.

To customize the settings

You can create your own set of picture settings by arranging the settings of

a preset. Storing several sets of settings helps you to enjoy a picture in the

taste you like according to the viewing environment and characteristics of

the source.

1 Open the menu.

2 Select the memory you want to adjust from “ Memory

Setting ” in “Picture”.

3 Adjust items in “Picture”.

➔ See pages 16 and later for the detail of menu items.

● It is recommended to use the preset of “Standard” as the base of your

adjustment.

● Adjustments are stored into the selected memory as you change the settings.

● To make another set of picture settings, select another memory in step 2

above and start adjustments.

To reset the settings

If you do not like your current adjustments, load either of the preset settings

into the memory which you want to reset. Settings of the selected memory

are overwritten by those of the loaded preset setting.

1 Open the menu.

2 Select the memory you want to reset from “ Memory Setting ” in

“Picture”.

3 Select “Load Preset”, select one of the preset settings, and press

“Load”.

Selecting the input signal

When you connect a PC to the INPUT-4 terminal, set the type of the input

signal accordingly.

●For signals in VGA60 and XGA60

Set “Sampling Mode” to “Std”. (➔ page 34)

●For signals in WVGA60

If the picture is not aligned vertically, or letters on the screen look

blurred

Set the aspect to “1:1”, and adjust “Dot Clock” and “Clock Phase”. (➔ page

35)

● For signals in 1920 x 1080, set the aspect to “Full” and adjust the same items.

If the picture is cropped, or extra margins are displayed around it

2 Adjust the position of the picture using “PC Position Adjustment”

until the upper left corner of the picture is positioned at the upper

left corner of the display.

3 Adjust the size of the picture using “H Size” and “V Size” until the

bottom right corner of the picture is positioned at the bottom right

corner of the display.

When you select the picture preset of “Photo Pro” in “ Memory Setting ”, you

can view the photographs just the way they were taken.

For JPEG pictures, select “sRGB” or “AdobeRGB” under the setting of “Color

Space” (➔ page 20) according to the setting of your camera, so that the

photographs are displayed more faithfully to the original.

● It is recommended not to modify the settings of “Photo Pro”. In the initial

setting of “Photo Pro”, “Color Space” is set to “sRGB”.

Troubleshooting

The following are not malfunctions.

●This LCD display is built with very high precision technology; however,

be aware that a few pixels may be missing or constantly lit.

●When a still image is displayed for a long time, it may remain

indistinctly on the screen after the picture has changed. The remaining

picture will disappear after a while.

●The following symptoms are problems only when pictures or sounds

are not played back normally.

● A slight electric shock occurs when you touch the monitor.

● The top and/or rear panel of the monitor becomes hot.

● The monitor emits a cracking noise.

● The monitor emits a mechanical noise.

●If the monitor does not operate normally, perform the following to

reset the monitor.

● Turn off the power switch on the rear of the monitor, and turn it on again.

● Unplug the monitor from the wall outlet, and plug it in again.

Cannot turn on the monitor.

●Connect the power cord properly. (➔ page 10)

●Turn on the power switch. (➔ page 10)

The remote control does not work.

●Insert the batteries in the correct direction. (➔ page 05)

●Replace the batteries with new ones.

●Aim the remote control to the remote sensor on the monitor. (➔ page

11)

● The effective range of the remote control is about seven meters (23 feet).

●Get closer to the monitor.

●Remove any obstruction between the remote control and the monitor.

No picture from a connected device.

●Select the correct input on the monitor.

●Connect the external device properly.

●Turn on the external device and start playback.

No sound.

●Check the speaker cord connection. (➔ page 05)

●Press the MUTING button.

●Check the amplifier connection.

● When “AMP” is selected under “Speaker”, the sound is output from the

amplifier, and not from the speakers of the monitor. (➔ page 13)

No picture from HDMI devices.

●Select the correct input on the monitor.

●Use a cable marked with the HDMI logo.

●Please use a High Speed HDMI^TMCable. High Speed HDMI^TMCables are

tested to carry an HD signal up to 1080p and higher. (➔ page 09)

No sound from HDMI devices.

●Set “Input-1 Audio” properly. (➔ page 37)

Cannot control HDMI CEC devices.

●Set “Control with HDMI” to “On”. (➔ page 36)

●Some devices may not accept controls by HDMI CEC.

Cannot operate the product using the buttons on the monitor.

●Set “Front Panel Lock” to “Off”. (➔ page 29)

Picture from a computer is strange.

●Adjust the items under “PC Setting”. (➔ page 34)

The source indication stays on the display.

●Turn on the selected external device and start playback.

● When no signal is input, you cannot turn off the source indication.

The picture and the sound do not synchronize.

●Adjust “Lip Sync”. (➔ page 27)

Colours are strange.

Warning

Please follow all the guidelines below.

Never try to repair the product yourself!

●To prevent electrical shock, do not open cover. Repair shall be

done by service personnel only.

●If the problem cannot be solved in “Troubleshooting” (➔ page 42),

unplug the power cord and contact your retailer.

If the product is damaged or behaving strangely, stop using it at

once!

●Unplug the power cord and contact your retailer.

Follow this manual regarding setup!

●Connect only to a 100-240 V, 50 Hz/60 Hz AC outlet.

Make enough room for inserting and removing the power plug!

Place this product as close to the outlet as possible!

●Even if the product’s power lamp is unlit, the main power supply is not

cut off unless the power cord is unplugged. The main power supply for

this product is controlled by inserting or removing the power plug.

Do not use any power cord other than the provided with this product!

●Use of power cords other than provided may cause fire or malfunction.

●When several kinds of power cord are provided in the package, use the

one which fits your AC outlet.

Connect the power cord to a grounding outlet.

●This plug will fit only into a grounded power outlet. If you are unable

to insert the plug into the outlet, contact your electrician to install the

proper outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the grounded plug.

●When you insert the power cord to a grounding outlet, the product

gets grounded.

●Improper grounding may lead to an electric shock.

Never cut or damage the power cord!

●If the power plug is not the right shape, or the power cord is not long

enough, use an appropriate plug adapter or extension cable. (Consult

your retailer.)

Do not allow the product to fall!

●Do not rest your elbows on, or allow children to hang from the product.

There is a risk that the product will fall and cause injuries.

●Make use of the hole on the back of the stand to prevent the product

from falling easily. (➔ page vii)

When installing the monitor on the wall, ask your dealer to install.

When installing the product:

●Use the cabinets or stands which are specified or recommended by the

manufacturer.

●Use furniture on which the product can be installed steadily.

●Do not install the product in the way that any part of the product

protrudes from the platform or furniture.

●Do not install the product on tall furniture (bookshelf, cupboard, etc.)

without proper fixing.

●Do not install the product on a furniture-covering cloth or the like.

●

Take care that children do not climb upon furniture to operate the product.

Take care when handling the glossy finish!

Handle LCD panel with care!

●Use a soft, dry cloth when cleaning.

Hold the product so as not to scratch the screen!

●Do not touch the screen when carrying the product.

Never place anything on the product!

●Placing liquids, naked flames, cloths, paper, etc. on the product may

Never expose to rain or moisture!

●To prevent fire or electric shock, never allow liquids to enter the unit.

Never insert objects into the cabinet openings!

●It may cause a fatal electric shock. Take care when children are near.

Never obstruct the ventilation holes!

●It may cause overheating or a fire.

Cleaning the screen

The screen of this monitor is coated with layers of thin films, such as

a coating to prevent unwanted reflections. Damages to these layers

such troubles.

●Do not paste or stick anything using any glues or adhesive tapes.

●Do not write anything on the screen.

●Do not strike the screen with a hard object.

●Avoid condensation on the screen.

●Do not wipe the screen with solvent such as alcohol, thinner, or

benzine.

●Do not wipe the screen forcefully.

If the screen gets stained, wipe it with a soft dry cloth or a soft cloth

soaked in water or water-diluted neutral detergent and wrung well.

Cleaning the cabinet

Wipe stains off the cabinet with a soft cloth. If the cabinet gets heavily

stained, wipe it with a soft cloth soaked in water-diluted neutral detergent

and wrung well, then wipe with a soft dry cloth.

To avoid the deterioration or damages of the cabinet such as its paint’s

peeling away, be careful about the following:

●Do not wipe the cabinet using solvent such as alcohol, thinner, or

benzine.

●Do not expose the cabinet to any volatile substance such as

insecticides.

●Do not allow any rubber or plastic in contact for a long time.

●The top of the supplied stand is made of glass. Avoid physical shock and

do not scratch it with hard objects.

Ventilation openings

Use a vacuum cleaner to get rid of the dust on and around the intakes (all

the openings). If a vacuum cleaner is not available, use a cloth and wipe it

off. Leaving the dust around the intakes may prevent proper temperature

control and cause damage to the product.

Inserting batteries into the remote control

When replacing the batteries

To avoid short-circuit, place the minus end of the batteries first.

● Batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as direct sunshine, fire or

the like.

● Read the precautions on the battery.

● The batteries last about 6 to 12 months on regular usage.

● The included batteries are supplied for operation check and may last shorter.

Attaching and connecting the speaker unit

Attach the supplied speaker unit under the monitor using the supplied

screws.

● Refer to the startup sheet for details.

● You can also connect speakers other than the supplied one. In this case, set

“PEQ” to “Off”. (➔ page 28)

To adjust the vertical position of monitor

The monitor is height-adjustable in 3 positions, by 5.5 cm at the

maximum. Adjust the vertical position of the monitor when you need to

place a device under the monitor.

1 Detach the monitor from the stand.

1-1 Spread a soft cloth on a flat table or floor to place the removed

monitor on.

1-2 Remove the screw connecting

the monitor and the stand.

1-3 Detach the monitor from the

stand.

● The monitor should be carried by

two or more people.

2 Change the position of the hooks.

Make picture adjustments according to your needs using the “Picture” menu.

● You can save six sets (“memories”) of your adjustments.

● You can load a preset into memory and use it as it is, or make your own

adjustment.

This monitor features rich menus for picture control, in addition to 6 pre-

installed sets of picture settings carefully prepared by JVC to suit various

types of video content and viewing environment.

Enjoy controlling appearance of pictures using the “Picture” menu, and

create your own picture settings.

To customize the settings

You can create your own set of picture settings by arranging the settings of

a preset. Storing several sets of settings helps you to enjoy a picture in the

taste you like according to the viewing environment and characteristics of

the source.

1 Open the menu.

2 Select the memory you want to adjust from “Setting

Memory” in “Picture”.

3 Adjust items in “Picture”.

➔ See pages 16 and later for the detail of menu items.

● It is recommended to use the preset of “Standard” as the base of your

adjustment.

● Adjustments are stored into the selected memory as you change the settings.

● To make another set of picture settings, select another memory in step 2

above and start adjustments.

To reset the settings

If you do not like your current adjustments, load either of the preset settings

into the memory which you want to reset. Settings of the selected memory

are overwritten by those of the loaded preset setting.

2 Select the memory you want to reset from “Setting Memory” in

3 Select “Load Preset”, select one of the preset settings, and press

photographs are displayed more faithfully to the original.

● It is recommended not to modify the settings of “Photo Pro”. In the initial

Troubleshooting

The following are not malfunctions.

●This LCD display is built with very high precision technology; however,

be aware that a few pixels may be missing or constantly lit.

●When a still image is displayed for a long time, it may remain

indistinctly on the screen after the picture has changed. The remaining

picture will disappear after a while.

●The following symptoms are problems only when pictures or sounds

are not played back normally.

● A slight electric shock occurs when you touch the monitor.

● The top and/or rear panel of the monitor becomes hot.

● The monitor emits a cracking noise.

● The monitor emits a mechanical noise.

●If the monitor does not operate normally, perform the following to

reset the monitor.

● Turn off the power switch on the rear of the monitor, and turn it on again.

● Unplug the monitor from the wall outlet, and plug it in again.

Cannot turn on the monitor.
